Hey Lloyd,I now take for granted that you will understand what is happening, how to measure whatever it is that is happening, and find various ways to change what is happening. Of course then you find a way to test the theories and calculations in the real world. I just shook my head and laughed. Anyway..... this past week I was wondering about striker speed and acceleration. I remember you had a striker you believed was too heavy for a given spring, stroke combination. A lighter striker would have actually produced more energy. It seems like optimizing the striker weight/spring energy/stroke is a worthwhile goal. I was wondering how fast a Disco striker is traveling when it hits the poppet?Don't mean to sidetrack this topic, my question is kinda similar regarding time and speed.Thank YouSteve
Now I know why it took you so long to tell me you got that package.Oh, and now my head hurts!
.................................But either depends on the totality of the system; projectile weight TP, hammer weight, hammer spring, valve/plenum volume, etc.
You seem to be looking for the missing energy? How about cleaning the barrel and pellet with acetone (removing any lubricant) and measuring the speed. Then lubing the barrel and pellet and comparing results? How big a role does friction play in the missing energy?StevePS I would pay dearly for a video of you tap dancing with the piezeo things taped to your shoes!!!
