i usually carry a sitting pad while squirrel hunting, but i left it out yesterday after practicing and it was too damp to use this morning. looking for something else to pad my butt when sitting in the woods for an extending period, i wore my bicycle compression shorts with a gel seat under my camo pants. they worked great for sitting on a stump or felled tree. much more comfortable than without, and i didn't have to carry them around with me.
Carl, I use one of the folding stools with the Camo seat material. It is the 3-legged model. Something like this would do also: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mossy-Oak-Hunting-Stool-with-Bag-Shadow-Grass-Blades-Camo-225-lb-capacity/612096593?athbdg=L1600
Those shorts works much better when coupled with this complimentary headwear

And just think, you could throw a camo job on it and the squirrels, rabbits, or ? would have no idea what you were. A backwards facing toucan?
MAMIL = middle aged male in Lycra. I cycle also, life long, but I wear non-padded cycling shorts, hard to find. i wear compression shorts under my mountain bike shorts while riding. the padded shorts came with the mountain bike shorts, but i've never worn them while bicycling. I just use those stadium seats to keep me off the ground. In the warmer times there are too many insects (ticks, chiggers, fire ants) to sit on the ground. i have a camo seat pad that retains the user's body heat, but the padded bicycle shorts relieves me of 1 less thing to carry around. as for hunting in warm weather, i will carry a short tripod stool in my pack back to keep me off the ground.
You really, REALLY don't want to find this 75 year old man sitting in the woods wearing spandex. Really bad visual here. Wow! O
