Thanks Guys and Bob

My ride should be here this week, it got held up because of the holidays.

I am ordering all the little odds and ends, like good puncture proof tire inserts, racks, SOFT Old man seat,
bar bag for the C Ph/meds I have to carry for Diabetes (Low Sugar pills), set of tools minimal amount,
Weather/wind Proof riding gear, Helmet, pack saddle bags/rack, head/tail lights and a good trailer etc.

I can't wait to ride it, even thou I have 3+" of snow on the ground,
and the average temp is around 20-40* for the highs.
The Handle bar muffs I made for the Honda ATV should also work the bike, I hope.

Lots to do yet......LOL

Thanks again,
Don

Hey Guys & Gals

I am getting ready for the first ride on my NEW E Bike..............and probably a crash and burn also..LOL
the 3+" of snow have turned to mud now, 55* today.......
It's only been 50-60+ yrs since I have pedal any bike......... :o

Would like to get some info on the following questions,
1. As I have diabetes, I plan on carrying a tube of the sugar pills,
What else should I also take along, in a small fanny pack/back pack?

2. What tools for emergency repairs/tightening nuts bolts etc?
The bike will be gone over and everything checked before riding.

3. Would carrying a new complete chain and several quick links, also a chain breaker tool,
a small selection of the bolts/screws needed for the bike?

Thanks,
Don

Good questions, I have never carried a chain with me because I have never had one break and with a hub
drive it wouldn't matter. I do carry a First Aid Kit, a liter of water, snack bars, 3-8mm Allen wrenches and a hand air pump.
I use to carry an inner tube but not since I added Slime to the tires. Adding more weight is another advantage of an ebike.
I have rear saddle bags and a triangle bag that fits nicely in the frame. Ride safely and have fun.

Livin in Hawaii, surfing, playing with guns, hunting pigs, exploring with new fangled Ebikes.   That sounds pretty much OK.   I don't want to make anyone jealous but I was hobbling around cleaning up after a snowstorm, digging out cars, scraping ice, shoveling stairs.   I wasn't sweating like I would be if I was in Hawaii.

Thanks Guys

Bob, that is the 1st photo of big game being hauled out with an E Bike, I have seen......... 8)
being it is taken in the fairly flat lands they used a 4 wheeled trailer, which is fine,
but I couldn't get that trailer off the road/track around here, steep side hills and cow trails 12+" wide etc.

I got most of the extra gear coming for keeping the bike up and running,
will make the second order when bike is at hand, for the fenders/rack/panniers etc.

Here is what I ordered >
https://bikonit.com/products/bikonit-warthog-md750-ebike?variant=32240469442699
Got a $300 discount, (I see the price has gone up........... :: now for 2022).
I also received the dual battery & chargers and the motor/controller unlocked,
and the Old Pharts soft seat, for the same price of $3850.

I am waiting on UPS to get here................... ::)

Thanks Guys for all the info given, if you find more, let's hear it............ 8),
I need all the help I can get and just maybe someone else following along will also help them.

I wonder if my PCP's will fit on it ???

Hey Manny,
Thanks, you are bringing back lots of memories of Hog Hunting in N. Calif, Red Bluff area,
no bag limits or season in the 60's.......... 8)

Congrats on the e-bike. Your gonna love it.
As for bike tools, I carry the tire fill kit with two Co2 cartridges, small folding allen wrench set, and patch kit. For me, sliming my tires are in the near future. In my fanny pack, I have my meds, reading & sunglasses. Normally the fanny pack is in the Jeep. I have a small pill pack with enough meds/pills for a day that goes in my hunting backpack has my first aid kit, small emergency blanket, energy bars, water and hunting gear.
For additional safety, I carry a Garmin in Reach Explorer whenever out fishing/hunting/hiking etc. Most of the ranches I hunt on don't have any cell service for emergency calls.  I use the minimum monthly plan and if it's needed who cares if I get additional fees. Most folks spend a lot of money on their outdoor equipment, Vehicles, Fishing Boats, hunting equipment and don't spend the money on getting their butt to med services if needed. Safety is peace of mind for you & your loved ones.

Thanks Guys

I am still looking for a good Helmet, with the re trackable built in eye glass,
just pull down or slide up to use, also protected via the helmet,
found lots of them with the clip on magnets, which can only be used in 1 form,
plus it has to fit my fat head....LOL

But I want the eyeglasses built into the Helmet, as I have a habit losing/destroying sun glass.
I'll also dig out my SAT PH, and have charged for when I head into the Mtns.

I have made up a pack with all the other equipment/meds/life saving gear for local riding etc,
Have so far,
Meds/C Ph & Sat phone/flat tire changing/repairing gear/6 Co2 bottles for filling Flat Out slimed tires,
Allen tool kit, extra chain/quick lock snaps/chain breaker tool/extra Misc bike tools,
water proof hooded Poncho/Liner+ ground tarp/water bottles/small first aid kit/locking large folding knife,
smaller Swiss army multi use knife/water proof tube of matches/pistol w/2-30rd mags (RF Mag),
2 smaller hand held rechargeable LED Flash lights/Water & Wind proof riding/cold weather pants/hooded coat,

Need >
Good Helmet w/sun glasses, way to fit Garmin 60 Gps to bike with charging options,

I also see that the area where my bike is coming/shipping from has been without elect power,
since the 29th/Dec, so I believe that it be shipping later than quoted by Bolten bike company,
so I have more time to get everything needed and setup.......... ;)

Thoughts and suggestions always appreciated,

Tia,
Don

That scabbard appears to be a lot better than carrying your prized weapons crossways on the handle bars,
I have seen a couple of destroyed rifles that were grabbed by tree/brush limbs etc.

They don't show a good close up of it attached to the rack.... ;)

Hey Guys,
I just gota vent a little.............

I am PIZZED, bent outs shape and want to raise some hate and discontent................ >:(   >:(

I just received a ph call from the shipper that has my Wart Hog bike in Reno NV, 100 miles away,
per the person that called me, they will not be delivering my bike until they have a full truck load
for Lovelock and surrounding areas etc, around the 15th of FEB.

I called the company that I bought the bike from and they are looking into to it.
I am just about ready to drive to Reno and pick it up myself, and change the shipper the $100 for shipping etc.

I don't know what else to do, the seller is not at fault, the AIT shipping company is the problem.......... >:(

Thanks for letting me rant, I am spitting nails mad and frustrated ........... >:(

Tia,
Don

Don, there is not much that you can do. If it's less than 300 miles, I would go for it.
Independent shippers have you over a barrel.
