My first PCP arrives Monday. New to me DAR Gen2 .177 from member Gendoc. My use over the winter will be daytime backyard plinking (10-20yds) will be dialing down the regulator and hammer spring. If I don't expect to shoot beyond 50yds in the next year (target or small game hunting), what do I really need in a scope? Should I be looking at a fixed power, 1-7x, or 3-9x? If I don't need an expensive optic, then I'd probably keep my budget below $100. Appreciate the feedback.
Put a 4-16 side focus scope on there and come shoot hunter field target with us at Arlington and Pecan Plantation. If you get hooked you may start going to Boerne or even OKC up in Indian Territories.[/quoteI appreciate the invite. I'll be looking for a club or range to shout beyond the confines of my suburban backyard. It would be great to get out and shoot in a social environment. Listened to a podcast with Philip Hepler. Hunter field target sounds like fun. Don't know if it's the same format, but that's ok. So much to learn.
