Amazon packaging of pellets is horrible... usually dented, smashed, and spilled in the box.

I haven’t had a problem with Amazon and Crosman pellets because they are much harder than others such as jsb. Tried jsb through Amazon once. Never again.

Amazon packaging of pellets is horrible... usually dented, smashed, and spilled in the box.
It’s really a &^^& shoot. I swore it off a couple years ago then decided to try again this year. Nice and padded in a box. Tried again this year, it was in plastic bag, not even the ones with padding. The crosman packaging was literally destroyed, so the tins got pretty dented.
Definitely not ordering any more in their busy season. Pellets are also ineligible for return, so you have to get a hold of customer service to get a refund.

One order for Crosman pellets from Amazon include two different pellets types. They were shipped together in a bubble padded envelope. They are a few minor dents in the tins and I saw just one bent skirt. The cardboard packaging showed some wear from the two coming in contact.
Later I ordered two more as part of promotion for $10 off $20 purchase if delivered to local Amazon locker. One item may have been temporarily out of stock so it was shipped about a week after the other. Both were shipped in plastic envelopes with no padding. I did not notice any damage.
I placed a few other orders of single tins and I think all were shipped plastic bags with no padding.
With my latest order I took a chance on the Gamo Tomahawk pellets even after reading some of the bad reviews. They were even worse than I expected. I am planning on returning them. They look so bad I don't even want to put them in any of air guns just to try them out. Many will not stand up straight due to extra material on the edge of the skirts. All of the hollow points ends look distorted. Some of sharps sitting inside the skirts. After placing a few dozen on a flat surface to examine them I noticed little pieces of the pellet material all over the surface. The H&N Excites, all Crosman, and current Winchester pellets from TSC all look magnitudes better so I would say they are much better alternatives for low cost pellets.
I use the camel camel camel dot com website to see what past low prices were an many items on Amazon and then based on the lowest prices in the past I have use the website feature of sending me an email when the item is at or below my price setting. I stopped using the subscribe and save option for everything because the prices on some items jump up and down too much. I may use subscribe and save for one order and then I will delete the item most of the time before the next order is sent.

picked up four more tins of each caliber of CPHP...came in a bag but undamaged blister packs helped this time...
Checked today price is still low...

Pellets from Amazon... Some times padded envelope, other times OVERSIZED box with wimpy air bags that were probably popped during pickup. Carded tins have survived well in my Amazon orders even with the
poor worst packaging ever. Loose tins of other pellet brands or other style containers I will no longer purchase through Amazon because those all had moderate to severe shipping damage.
Current Amazon CPHP prices are not bad, but I still have a pretty deep stash of both calibers picked up pre-pandemic. I miss those no quantity limit sales (up to 20% cheaper) but don't expect they will ever be that cheap again.

I have received two orders of 2,000 pellets in the last couple of weeks. Both were packed in boxes with the air bags inside. A quick look in each tin didn't reveal any damaged pellets.

I'm just breaking out my airguns again and found I'm really low on .177 pellets. I placed an online order at my local Academy for 4 at 5.99, but they only have 2 that I will pick up tomorrow. Ordered 3 more from the link.

When ordering from Amazon note that they have started using plastic bags for some shipments rather than even envelopes that have bubble] padding. My first order of two tins in November was shipped in a padded enveloped. It was obvious the tins in their packaging banged together. There were several small dents in the tins. I would suggest one consider ordering one tin at a time and placing another tin orderr the first one ships out. I only noticed one pellet with a flattened skirt in the tins. I am new to pellet guns so I may have missed other types of damage.
My later orders were shipped one tin per plastic bag. One order included on in-stock tin and one in stock soon. I knew they would be shipped separately because on final order page Amazon gave separate estimated delivery dates for each tin.

It appears I somehow the quote marks were messed up in my prior posting just about this one.
I just posted a price of $9.16 for Crosman .177 Wadcutters in 500 pellet tin from Amazon in the below thread. It is lowest price in nearly a year according to camel camel camel website. I am happy to see more pellets coming in stock at Amazon over the last few months and prices dropping there to more normal pricing.

I ordered 4 tins of the .22 - 14.3 gr domed pellets last Sunday & just received them. No damage, but they were just thrown in an oversize box with no cushion material at all! Every thing I've ordered from Amazon has usually come pretty well packed so it makes you wonder? Maybe there is a sign above the packaging table that says- If it's gun related, just throw it in the box??

I am a little surprised they even put the tins in a box rather than an envelope. My two tin order was sent in a padded envelope and my single tin purchases were shipped in non-padded plastic bags. I cannot ever recall seeing more than a few pieces of air padding inside a box shipment--not enough to do much good.

My last Amazon pellet order was shipped in an unpadded plastic bag. Learned my lesson. Now I make sure to combine pellet orders with other items so they use a box.

I order 3 tins of Crosmans. They came in the bubble mailer, but Crosman pellets are in a factory package for hanging on pegs. This seems to help protect them in shipping. No dents or damage.

I paid $9.99 for the domed .22 pellets back on 12/9 but received additional credit as part of using Amazon pickup location.
The current price of $8.37 is the lowest price since May of 2020 according to camel camel camel price tracker. So I placed an order for one tin that should be delivered Sunday. Once the order leaves the warehouse I may place another order as they ship the tins in a plastic bag with no padding between them.
I have noticed that Crosman and other pellet prices move a lot on Amazon especially when stock is low or out. I stopped using Subscribe and Save for several reasons. One is that it seemed that the shipment occurred often when one or more items was higher than normal in price so any savings were lost. I now have price alerts set so I receive an email when items I purchase periodically drop down to my desired priced. The .22 HP pellets were at the same high price back in mid-December for several days and November 4th before that. In October there were about 6 jumps to this high price followed by drops back to the normal low price.
I would expect the price to drop within a few days if the pellets are in stock and if the pellets become out of stock the price may not drop until after they back in stock.
My local Walmart has the Crosman shelves fully stocked with pellets for the first time since I started checking back in November so supply there has improved.

Thanks for the updated price. I went ahead and ordered a few tins to see if I can convince a gun or two to go on a cheaper diet. I usually shoot the JSB heavy.

Just note that your order will be shipped in either a plastic bag or at best a padded envelope. To get pellets shipped in a box others have ordered other items that require a box. Received another shipment yesterday from Amazon, six packages of these pellets, all in a small box with a wadded up paper filler. Blister pack backing was bent up a little but the pellets unharmed.
It may depend on quantity ordered. This is the second order in the same size box I've received.
Ordered four more of the domed tonight since price dropped. We'll see how they are delivered.

I've been ordering the 14.3 gr HP's off Amazon since I got my Cayden last year and found out how well it shoots them.
I've got a nice stash of over 15K of pellets and none of the tins were damaged. As another poster said, the tins come in a blister pack, geared for hanging from a peg. That blister pack does a great job of protecting them.

I was at my local Super Walmart today, and got a pleasant surprise. CPHP .22 went by back down to $6 and change. However, .177 are still at $7 and change. $3 more than what it was.

I received my Crosman .22 pellets from Amazon on Wednesday for $8.37 per tin of 500 and now today I see the price dropped down to $7.73.
