In the rules for shooting {10 Meters (32 feet, 10 inches)}
1 meter is 1.094 yards, 3.281 feet, 39.37 inches, roughly 39 1/3 inches.
The target should be at 39ft 4 inches.

10 meters = 393.701 inches = 32 feet and 9.701 inches.

I found it.
Meters are measured in 10th, if you multiply by 10 you get a meter answer.
Inches are part of a foot, 12 inches per foot, not meters.
10 meters = 39.372 feet.

I think I see what is going on in your head. You are correct that 10m is 393.7 inches. But the next step is trying to simply divide the inches by 10 to get feet, but 393.7 inches is not 39.37 feet.
Don't believe me? Let's check your work. 39ft 4 in would be 468 in (that's 39x12) +4 = 472 inches. But that can't be, because you've already shown that 10m is 393.7 inches. :o :o :o
Okay, that direction didn't work out, so let's just divide 393.7 inches to get feet 393.7/12 = 32.8 feet. If you multiply 12in x .8, you find the exact answer is 32 feet, 9.6 inches.
How's that?

Okay, try this, comparing feet to feet.
1 yard is three feet, 10 yards is 30 feet....not 36 feet...

As a 3rd period apprentice I forgot their was 12" to 1', So I read all kinds of measurements of web to web and bottom flange to bottom flange wrong.
The GF was SOOO PO'd. Oops.

Life has quieted down enough to make room for shooting again, and a good chuckle seeing this while checking in after long absence to see if the regular season has started ;D
I can't resist complicating this one....
By accident or design, there are exactly 2.54 centimeters in one inch. Remember this, and you'll never need another metric to BGU length conversion factor.
There are 100 centimeters in 1 meter, so there are 1,000 centimeters in 10 meters.
1,000 centimeters divided by 2.54 centimeters per inch is 393.7 inches per 10 meters.
There are 12 inches per foot, so 393.7/12=32.81 feet.
0.81 feet times 12 inches is 9.72 inches.
So 32 feet and 9.72 inches. Let's call it 32 feet 10 inches among friends....I hang my arm out over the shooting line by at least 0.28 inches ;D
Now, if only I could figure out a way to make that caliber specific...

Ok, so let's say we're shooting .25 caliber...
That would by 32'10" x .25/.177 (conversion)
so the conversion = 1.412
so that makes the new distance 32.8333ft x 1.412 =
46ft' 4-1/2"
Dang! No wonder all the competition shooters use those tiny pellets! Shooting big ones is haaaaaarder! ;D ;D ;D

It would be so much simpler to just stick with the old definition, which says The metre is defined as the length of the path travelled by light in a vacuum in 1/299 792 458 seconds.

Why do all that math, it makes my head hurt. Just pull out your range finder and let it tell you. My wife says when I say it is 6" it is really 4". :(

When I was in the Army navigatin' with a map and compass 100meters was 120paces. So I figured 30 paces was about 25 meters/yards give or take. A friend lazed it for me. Looks like for 66 years old ex-soldiers 25 meters is 35 paces now. So 100 meters is must be 140 paces for me now. Daddy use to tell me the legs are the first to go.

nah...solve it all.... get a 50 foot tape measure (cloth) thats got Imperial on one side and Metric on the other.....
