I'd like to be able to just get a kit with the check balls, bullet valves and o-rings/seals. If I add the Main Bullet Valve and Disk to my cart at Best Fittings, it gives me a shipping rate of 20 Euros for a 22 Euro part (over $50 USD), but if I add the 50 or 100 hour kit to the cart it says they can't ship it, which I suspect is due to the oil. I can get the oil from PA, I just wish they offered a kit without the oil! Their prices seem really steep for the other parts!
Man, but I hate to say it guys . . . at this moment I'm sure glad to be a springer fan. Oh ya, I love my pumpers too. Whew! Not an air tank or compressor in sight. I like the KISS method. My TX200 and Dragonfly are sooo easy to haul out to the range. Orv.
That's the problem with these chinese compressors, they all look alike, but there are subtle differences with each one and the parts arn't always interchangeable! I had this issue with the 2 YH compressors I had that failed. Both had YH printed on them, but the replacements parts I ordered from YH did not fit! I ended up giving away both because I could never get either one working again and I'm sure it was just because I could never get the correct parts, which, unfortunately, were those exact upper stage rings you suspect are going bad on Big Red. I hope you have better luck sources those than I did trying to source the ones I needed.
That issue with the Chinese compressors is so critical . . . that's why I was excited about the Hill from England as being something more robust that alos would include standardized and traceable for parts. But your issues getting parts for it is concerning - I really hope they get that sorted out and you get it running again.I'm always on the lookout for what to do if my Shoebox dies, which I admit is very unlikely but always possible (and I do have a good supply of all wear parts). The sad reality is that compressing air to these levels is a hard task, and no sub-$500 compressor is likely to be robust enough to be able to handle it long term, and thus is likely to be "disposable" when bought. Personally, I'd rather spend more to get the base robustness right, but even with that (like with the Shoebox) there still needs to be access to replacement parts when required.Hopefully that Hill situation gets sorted for you soon . . .
WOW !!!He answered on the second ring.Great news ! He said he has every single nut, bolt and part for my compressor. He is going to put a the seal rings I need in an envelope and send them to me today. It's good to know that if I dig in and find bad stuff in the lower I can get it.
Paul..I brought my old thread on the MKII back to life so I could get out of your thread... Sorry about stepping on toes...
