I’m looking for any information or experience on shooting #000 .360 buckshot like the ballistic products super buckshot out of a .357 barrel, in my case an evanix rex. I have heard some conflicting information and I’m trying to gather enough data to decide if this ammo is an option. Obviously these are a bit oversized but since they are a sphere the area of contact would be almost nothing if they were sized to match the bore. i read on a forum a roundball would have to be a little oversized compared to a slug in order for the ball to engage with the rifling and not just strip the grooves in the lead. If anyone has any experience with this I’d appreciate hearing about it.
I have a bottle of those, and the diameter varies from 0.350-0.362".... The smallest nearly roll through the barrel, and the largest won't even chamber, let alone fire.... I now use them for slingshot ammo.... Bob
Dimpled round balls… maybe you are on to something!
I think if you were to trim the excess and then tumble them for a while you would be able to more or less round out the flat spot. Don’t know if this adds anything to the conversation, but for what it’s worth:https://support.crosman.com/hc/en-us/articles/204296754-Can-360-round-balls-be-used-with-the-Bulldog-357-rifle-
