Welcome New Members / Hello« Last post by Tommy299 on Today at 12:56:48 PM »Hi to all
I have focused on making bb guns shoot accurately, mainly Red Ryders. This has been going on since Covid started and probably will continue. Also like Dianas and clones, Haenel and pre-war bb and pellet guns. 22
Crosman Airguns / Re: 2240 barely puncturing CO2 canister« Last post by Rick67 on Today at 12:51:26 PM »Btw, how do you position your transfer port?
The shorter section actually goes into the tube, although it somewhat doesn’t make much sense. I also put an O-ring (from disposable lighters) around the top transfer port section on mine. Another O-ring mod that I do is to install a small and very thin O-ring (same source) behind the probe O-ring; it seals the barrel much better and gives the cocking bolt a positive lockdown position. You can simulate the probe mod with a dental floss behind the O-ring. It’s not going to gain you tremendous amounts of velocity increase but you get the idea. 23

Confirmed hammer travel/slide freely no burrs or obstructions. Paid full attention to alignment (final torque to valve only after barrel was securely fastened and seated to TP and tube). See photo, barely a pin ^#(*% of a hole..? Pull the trigger quickly with extreme prejudice and don’t release it. It could be a very slight sear drag. I admittedly have a 22xx build that I shimmed (front and rear attachment points) because of that. 25

German AirGun Gate / RWS/Diana Model 45, 1983 vintage« Last post by north country gal on Today at 12:11:22 PM »Wasn't sure where to share this, so I just reverted to old habits and posted here, more or less my home base for many years. Thought all my German springer friends, here, would enjoy it.
![]() Anyway, I've had this vintage RWS Model 45 for many years and though it sits mostly in the safe, I do take it out for a session, now and then. I am still a springer shooter, after all, and this is a fine old springer. Love my HWs and FWBs, but this vintage Diana belongs right there with them. I bought this Model 45 at an estate sale over a decade, ago, that was being held for a retired air gun competition shooter who could no longer shoot for health reasons. He took special care of his 45 and it was (and still is) in mint condition. He replaced the old seals at one point with synthetic, so the gun still shoots very well. ![]() It wears an excellent RWS 4x AO air rifle scope, made in Japan. Optics truly are excellent. It came with the rifle and when I bought it and will remain on the rifle. To me, it is part of the shooting experience I get with this old springer. ![]() I wouldn't rate the trigger quite on a par with a Rekord, but I get along with it just fine. Haven't tried to adjust it all. Still set the way the former owner had it. Long first stage travel, but very sweet let off at the end. ![]() This vintage Diana 45 is not too pellet fussy, but it does especially well with standard 8.64 FTs. Added a few clicks of scope adjustment along the way, but overall a pleasant springer to shoot. Shot these just last week, just some casual target work, but in the past, I have been able to get groups under an inch way out there at 50 yards. As I said, it stays right there with my other springers. ![]() So, anyone else care to share one of their vintage German springers? Would love to see some more. 27

With piercing cap backed-off (unscrewed) slightly took quite a while to empty canister. Power was 247 - 322 FPS. What else could it be? Open to any suggestions at this point. What about trigger geometry (set-up)? Could it be that the sear is interfering with hammer complete forward travel? On my particular gun hammer forward travel from point of contact with poppit is restricted to .200 (slotted grove in the tube). I verified that with full forward travel would have plenty of hole opening. Sorry to get so technical. 30
