Title: Happy with my Feinwerkbau Collection
Post by: c801tfd on February 07, 2023, 02:46:35 AM
It all started when my Dad bought a new Beeman San Rafael Feinwerkbau 124 Sport Deluxe #44554 (1981/82) with a blue ribbon scope in 1982, when he passed in 2017 my mother passed his air rifle on to me. Having two sons I wanted to balance things out so I found another Beeman SanRafael Feinwerkbau 124 Sport Deluxe #15246 (1977/78), this one came with the JNC stamp. In November 2022 I was finally able to add the Feinwerkbau Model Sport #12400504 and rounded out the family collection in January 2023 by adding a hard to find Beeman San Rafael Feinwerkbau 127 Sport #30262 (1979/80), all are shooters. The 124 have new ARH seals and springs, I like the Sport just the way it is and I plan on installing new seals and spring from ARH in the 127 this spring.

Nice,  I started with a 124d back in 1975, then a few years later got a 300s.  Last year I added a new Sport, and finally a 80  target pistol.

Sweet collection.  Hope you shoot them all...

Now you need to find a FWB 65! ;D

Thank you everyone for the kind words, Yogi I may just start looking for a FWB 65 but it would also be fun to find a FWB 121 as well. Maybe one day they will appear.

Very nice Elroy. The Sporters are fine rifles from a bygone era. The modern Sport is amazing, but you must practice your due diligence with it. Far too many folks think FWB dropped the ball on that model,… but a beg to differ. Simply put,….shot the snot out of that rascal and it will transform into an awesome rifle,…just like its forefathers. Quick tip, keep your eye on the safety tab . A dab of blue loctite may be needed. The 121 is the same as the 124 aside from the rounded ambi stock. Being European, it may have a slightly weaker spring but I’m not sure those rules applied back then as they do today. Check with Macari on a kit for that 127. I guarantee you won’t be sorry. My 127 is an early San Anselmo model for which I will take to the grave!!!!! Lols. Nice job on your acquisitions Sir. Well done!!

Beautiful guns. Thanks for sharing.

My new Sport is currently my only FWB, but would love to find some of those vintage FWBs.

After reading a ton of people's experiences with the new Sport, both good and bad, I've come to the conclusion that it is an exceptionally good gun worthy of any collection. But with new, high-dollar items (Sport, LGV etc.), many are extremely keen to point out and condemn anything seemingly not up to par, even when it's a question of simple break-in / slight tune, which no-one denies are key in making a Weihrauch or Diana tic.

The FWB Sport is on my short list, for sure.

All has been forgiven with my new Sport because of the excellent, out of the box accuracy. Holds its own with my best under levers.

I am in total agreement on all the FWB’s past and present, given time they awesome, I found all you really need to do is learn the characteristics of each. As mentioned the new Sport is very unique but does not take long to get it to perform as advertised or expected.
