I picked up a 25 caliber refurb from Hatsan a while back which was inoperative as received. Somehow the previous owner got several pellets down into the receiver tube preventing the rifle from being cocked. I removed 2 of them with a dental pick but there were more in there that I could not get out without disassembling the gun and voiding the warranty. After several phone calls and e mails to Hatsan I finally got an RMA to return the gun to them. A few weeks later the gun was returned in working order. Hatsan gave no explanation of what they did to repair the rifle and there were 2 metal rings loose in the box. WTH. When I questioned Hatsan about the extra parts in the box they told me not to worry about it, somebody probably dropped them in the box by mistake. Their response did not inspire confidence in the gun but it does work now. The most annoying part was the gun was supplied with a "check list" of testing the gun prior to shipment which included a list of pellet velocity for 10 shots. This obviously was BS. In reality they just took the returned gun, boxed it up, slipped in bogus check sheets and, shipped it to me. The Proxima is a big, heavy gun. Cocking effort is high and the slender cocking arm starts to hurt my hand after a while of shooting. The cocking arm latch had some rough areas making opening and closing difficult until I filed and sanded the offending areas smooth. Much better now. Velocity is modest with 19.9 pellets considering the high cocking effort. It averages in the mid 600's. Accuracy is good with the open sights. The mags are easy to load and work like they should. Keep an eye on the beartrap release latch. Mine tends to work itself out making the latch wobble around. Thread lock is a must on the grub screw in the area. Hopefully, yours will not have the issues mine had.
