We have some pretty thorough information regarding variants of many Daisy guns thru the ages.
Is there a list of variants for the 7X7 series of SSP pistols?
Daisy used to sell a screw-in valve for the last design iterations of those fine pistols.
That valve featured the stem with the round-nosed poppet, ala the current 880 poppet.
Lately I have encountered 7X7 owners whose valves have the tapered nose poppet.
The new valve does not seal well in the older guns, from what I have been told.
Is there a way from looking at the Lot #'s that the dividing line can be determined?

You can lead a man to water, but you can't keep him from urinating in it.
