Acquired this gun as a package deal some time ago, but kept the ordeal to myself until now. Sometimes you get a lot more than you bargain for when buying used.
Most of the time a gun is good to go right out of the box. Not this one.
I spray painted the LDC since it was missing some finish. That's when my journey began.
Noticed slugs and pellets were going everywhere. I couldn't group it.
Gun was tuned by Will and is shooting 50FPE with five, non-regulated shots.
The LDC was a little loose too. The two set screws hold it down.
Initially thought it was the scope. Mounted another and same thing.
Remounted original that came with it.
I painted the inside of the LDC white, and projectiles were clipping.
Went to a local specialty store to buy $3 of .05 brass shim. I don't need a boatload from amazon. This eliminated the play.
Still clipping. Decided to measure the ID of beginning and exit of LDC. Can't remember size.
Researched on chart, and next size up is an M size drill bit.
Went to another local specialty store and bought a standard length drill bit. Only problem is the drill bit was too short!
Went to another local specialty store to buy the extended M drill bit. This time it worked.
Painted inside again. No clipping.
Tried a dozen slugs. No dice.
Tried Eun Jin pellets. The not so good.
Eventually tried JSB Monster and Beasts. The monsters won out.
Still need to refinish LDC, along with an epoxy paint.
At least it groups now.
