I get from this data shows it to be .019 The HAM article shows these pellets having a B.C. rating of .012? I'm using the Pyramid Air Balistics calculator to get the numbers?

PCP/CO2/HPA Air Gun Gates "The Darkside" / Re: Benjamin Fortitude Leak Question« Last post by nervoustrigger on Today at 10:58:20 AM »Usually when a slow leak occurs at high pressure and then eventually stops, it is because of one of two reasons:
1. An O-ring is beginning to extrude. The long-term effect of pressure acting on an O-ring is that it deforms, flattens out, and may eventually push into the small gap in between the parts. If you've ever replaced an O-ring that has little wispy wings hanging off of it, that's extrusion. So at high pressure, the material thins out to the point where a slow leak develops. Then as the pressure falls, the O-ring relaxes a little and seals up again. 2. An O-ring is hardening / becoming brittle. This symptom is especially common with regulators on account of the heating effect which occurs each time it replenishes the plenum, which causes the material to degrade at an accelerated rate. The two most susceptible to it are the one at the small end of the regulator piston, and the one nearby on the pressure adjuster screw (if present). The one on the piston is the one that will cause a leak. A soapy water check of the regulator's atmospheric vent will find it right away. Usually it's a pinhole near the regulator, in which case simply placing clear tape over it will show it without the need for soapy water. Whereas some regulators vent opportunistically through an adjacent threaded connection, in which case soapy water or leak detector fluid is the answer. I hope this helps. 3

Dirt or an impediment would cause the poppet to leak, but it would have leaked at all stages of pressure. If it’s the poppet, I’d burnish it first, the “plastic” portion that sits on the valve seat, by attaching it to a hand drill, using fine grit. Removing the shroud for the balloon test would optimize results. 4

I cocked it again and I could hear some hissing and gurgling from around the breech area. I was thinking that I would have to do another rebuild. It hasn't been that long. This morning I tried it out again and the first shot was ok, then when I cocked it the gurgling was back. But after that it seems to be shooting well as usual. I have no idea of why it's so intermittent. If it keeps shooting ok, then fine, but if it continues to be hit or miss (pun intended) then I might have to do another rebuild with changing the O-rings and valve kit. I sure don't want to do that. I slept in until nearly 0600… things have been chaotic lately, everywhere around me: work, church, home, family, etc. It’s all good, because I’ve had enough. Topped it off with my birthday yesterday that went to south all day. Ayrabella stayed home from school because we stayed up too late. I’ve had my 2 cups of coffee, but there’s no work this morning and thunderstorms. The girls are still in bed, so I think I’ll turn my ringers down and go back to bed for a couple hours. We’ll see what I might do afterwards, if the office doesn’t come up with something. I’m not complaining, I’m just declaring no more chaos for me. Way past due that I put the monkeys back in their cage… I down even own a monkey.

Back Room / Re: So if you didn't do anything airgun related what did you do today?« Last post by maraudinglizard on Today at 10:09:29 AM »I don't mind the wasps either, they take out a lot of caterpillars. Even 6 years after the hurricane a lot of things have still not recovered well including the insects. The beekeepers in this area are just now starting to get back to normal for production. They still have to deal with the mites and beetles in the nucs. The new nucs that disperse the mite dust are not cheap. This year the tupelo will have a decent bloom with all the flooding. Hopefully the beekeepers will have a good harvest for the next few weeks. I had more honey bees around the citrus this year and had a pretty good set. That reminds me, we just had a truck load of bees in hives delivered to the orchard yesterday was nice and sunny, they were happy bees from FL, this am it is 34f LOL I bet they are freezing their Bee hinds off Yep, they are going to be a little sluggish. The ladybugs I put out last night are little slow going this morning but have already taken chunk out of the bugs on the citrus. I have another batch coming on Friday. The lacewings go out today, they will hatch out in the next week or so. That will keep the caterpillars under control. I have plenty of veggies to keep them around for the summer. 8
Bargain Gate / Re: How to get a discount on PARD Scopes!« Last post by HunterWhite on Today at 10:05:38 AM »That PARD looks pretty good. I have a NV008S with LRS. It cost 3x that. The light sensor on the one you show has better resolution than mine. That's a really good deal.
You must have several night vision scopes, judging by your hole punch videos. I would like to read your comments if you have a thread discussing them. Hunter 9
