No lube...

just a quick question for Diana RWS owners...
i just opned up a guys 54 for a new spring/seal..
There was NO lube in it...I mean totaly dry is
this a normal practice for Diana/RWS ?

I've heard others say the same thing. When I got my Model 52, there was a brownish "oil type" substance on the bolt every time I cocked it . Took the gun apart to get rid of the brown stuff, and noticed the spring,piston and seal were all dry.

Yep, that's the way mine was....brown oily stuff, and not much of it.

Yes, it is typical of Diana guns for some time now.  I think they just put a preservative on the spring.  Get some JM lubes and you'll be set.
