1358 underlever Regulator Question

(1/2) > >>

billygee:
Been going in circles trying to gain any info on a regulator for this beeman underlever
So far found that Lane makes one :

(Option 2: 7/8" Reservior I.D. or 22mm - Reg 21.78mm Nom.
QB CHIEF / CHIEF II
Beeman Underlever 1357 & 1358 models with 7/8" - 22mm I.D. Reservior Tubes.)

Question is how is this regulator vented in this 1358
As may want to return it back to nonregulated

Seems no one has any input on installation or if more other then Lane has regulators for this PCP

Any input would be appreciated

Flip your gauge block around, you want the regulator against the smooth side, not the slotted side. Be sure you install the plastic spacer between the valve and gauge block. Remove the two o-rings on the smooth side of the gauge block to allow the reg to vent. Reverse those steps to revert to unregulated use.

Plenum volume is minimal, so expect a good hit to your power levels.

I haven't used the Lane regulator in the underlever, but have used the same regulator you are talking about in similar platforms. The Lane regulators work very well. It is perfect for backyard target shooting and hunting rabbits and squirrels if you are a good shot. His kit comes with great instructions, complete with pictures.

If you are wanting power on the regulator, expect to have to do a lot of changes to your valve and gauge block to get there. It'll give you a good excuse to pick up a lathe  ;D

Thanks for your response
Uncertain if my question is misleading
This Beeman 1358 underlever "Does Not" have a regulator installed yet

Attempting to install one, while acquiring any information I can get on availability and installation
Who in the US may have these in stock
Also if any drilling is needed for venting this regulator

Thanks again
Bill

The description on the lane website for the qb chief says it does not require a vent.

The website also has install manuals.

No drilling is needed. Simply removing the two o-rings on the side of the gauge block facing the regulator will allow the regulator to vent. The two o-rings on the gauge block facing the valve need to stay. This makes the installation simple as well as reversible. It'll make more sense when you get the regulator and installation instructions that come with it.

I ordered mine through Lane's ebay listing. It arrived quickly, especially considering it shipped from overseas. If you can take apart a PCP rifle and put it back together, installing this regulator is a breeze. I say take it apart, because you'll have to clear everything out of the air tube just to flip the gauge port around and install the plastic spacer.

If you need any tips or advice beyond what Lane's instructions provide, feel free to ask for help. I think I've got some pictures somewhere that might help you out.
