Now you got me thinking....With the two that I have we can do a mag change, simulate the clearing drill but with no actual ejection of a pellet/BB, not sure what a clearing holster drill is, weak hand yes and alternative racking yes but the spring tension is substantially less than the actual firearm. The main benefit I see is muscle memory. Fun and convenience are the top pros for doing this I guess. It’s not going to be as good as doing these things with the firearm version but I think it’s still helpful. You would know better than I. The majority of firearms shooting that I have done has been static shooting (stationary position at a stationary target).

I shot some practice targets for the Casual Matches, and yesterday's fiasco disappeared.Xs were doing good along with 10s, I have no idea what I was doingdifferently but it's all good now. I am thinking seriously about sanding off the factory finish on the 853 and just using the natural wood's character and let the chips fall where they may. I was interested in using the True Oil process. Is there any other finishing for a natural finish processes I could look at. I want to keep it simple.Ron

Out of the two you show pictured, which do you like better (if any) and why? Maybe just a list of each’s strengths and drawbacks? From the 2 1911 i would pick the springfield. The blowback is stronger, way better trigger (more like an actually 1911 single action pull), magazine falls out when you hit the mag release, you can field strip like a 1911, and IMO it looks a whole lot better. As for my bb co2 replicas, this is my nicest one I have and the only downside for me is that the rear sight was drifted a little to the right out the box, but it is still very accurate for a bb gun The good things about the colt over the springfield is that it has a rail for accessories, I can use my speed loader with the magazine(mags are cheaper too), and it was half the price of the springfield with good accuracy. Trigger is bad (very awkward and I need to use a glove because trigger guard rubs on my finger to much) and the rear grip safety is just for show. You cant field strip but you can easily get to the seal for the co2 cartridge if needed by removing the grips.Colt was made by Umarex and the Springfield was made by AirVenturi Both were made in Taiwan
