I've printed 32 TPI 60 degree threads in PETG without much issue. But my trick on assembly is to use silicone oil on the threads. Then it screws right on.

I do the same thing and I heat the plastic gently to about 140-180f with a lighter before engaging the threads. This also helps to get a good tight fit.
