USPS AT IT AGAIN

I purchased two in-expensive air rifles off the AA classifieds from a shooter in Iowa.
He shipped on the 14th.
I will receive them today.
One week. Wow!
Timeline:
11-14 (10:53am) package in USPS custody Eldridge, IA
11-14 (5:09pm) package departs Eldridge, IA
11-16 Arrives Des Moines, IA (2 days) (86 miles) (Horse and buggy???)
11-18 (4:35pm) arrives SFO Regional facility. (2 more days)
11-20 En-route to next facility (2 days at San Francisco).
11-21 (4:04am) Arrives at Oakland Regional facility (across the bay).
11-21 (8:30am) arrives Fairfield Post Office
11-21 (9:25am) Out for delivery.
2000 miles
I was a letter carrier for a short while and I have always defended the USPS but....

I had the same thing last week when I sold a bow on another forum.  Took 7 days from Texas to california. I was getting daily messages from the buyer who was in a panic when he didn't have it the second day.

On the other hand, I got a gun today (Upper Michigan) that was shipped on Monday (3 days total) from Colorado.  Not bad at all.  3 day priority express.  The seller only charged me 18.45 shipping. I don't know if that was his cost.

Yep I hate waiting too.  I won't even buy green bananas.     ::)

Window Clerk for 24 of my 34 years at USPS. Depending on the level of service the delivery time is about right. Priority Mail is normally 2-3 days. Parcel Post is 7-10 days.
