It was at least 6 or 8 months back and I don't remember the name of the member who posted about it, but they said they'd contacted Hawke about which scope lines were springer rated because they wanted to put a Panorama scope on springer and were told all but the Vantage line were rated for spring piston airgun use.Don't own a Sidewinder, least not yet anyway, but almost every rifle in my sig has either a Vantage, Airmax or Panorama on it and I have yet to have any problems with any of them and that Sidewinder having a 30mm tube and glass etched reticle should hold up just fine on yours.
Steve this is the data sent to me by HAWKE in Ohio:
I have only had one Hawke scope fail on a springer and that was mounted to my at the time untuned Diana D460 it was also one of their least expensive scopes the warranty fixed everything since I chose to upgrade to a more powerful scope from Hawke never had another Hawke scope fail in 5 years of springer use

This is my first Hawke scope so I wasnt sure If I should chance it. I know Hawke does carry a lifetime warrenty, but I really do hate sending things you pay good money for back to the manufacturer for repair/replacement:/
[ Im going to go ahead and put her on there but has anyone else put a scope on a rifle that's worth five times more than their gun lol??
