I looked at it like that too Mike. But then I got to looking at case history.. real world stuff..How often am I in the woods with no power around and need more than 30 or so shots? That's either one record setting hunt or I can't aim worth a hoot and need to be back at the bench practicing or sighting that gun in. And even if I did, a couple top offs from a buddy bottle would be more than enough. I have a 30minute scba tank in a back pack.. the YH fills it with no problem. I can shoot a 3k gun off of that at 4200psi for a weekend or more.I mean, even when we had the RV at the ATV park we had access to 30 amp power. And the YH don't weigh much or take that much space. A coffee can of water was plenty, if it gets warm, dump and refill it.I picked up the OrcAir for $100 on an impulse. In realty, it will probably never see 12v from my truck.
I have an OrcAir 12/110 dry compressor I picked up used here in the classifieds. It had a couple sketchy loose wires inside that I soldered and I had to hot glue the pin in the plug in connector. I've used on my bench filling my SPA PP800 crabine for all day shooting. It was very handy to have right on the shooting bench and worked great. No way I would try to top off any tank with it. That ain't what it's made for.
Well apparently I bought a GX-CS3 compressor. Betty Lou and I will take a drive Saturday and pick it up.
So…. My GX CS4 was delivered today. Ordered it Sunday afternoon and it was delivered today. I’ve been looking for another compressor, mostly to fill guns, but wanted the capability to fill/ top off tanks also. My main compressor is an Omega Supercharger. I think I’ve had it for about 1 1/2 years and have 30+ hours on it. So the Omega Trail Charger was on my radar. When I read this thread and looked on the GX Pump web site, it was pretty obvious who makes Omega. Now that I actually have it in house, there is no doubt. Right down to the carry handle. The one small sour note is, several pieces were missing in the spare parts kit. Emailed GX, so let’s see how customer support is.Filled the water tank and ran the pressure up with the deadhead included. All seemed good, so I topped off a gun and then my small 90 cu. in. tank. I didn’t time it, but the tank top off took longer than I expected. Everything worked fine, just seemed to take longer. This compressor runs very smoothly and really quiet. Fingers crossed.
I'm really happy with my GX CS4 also, much faster than the Benjamin Traveler it replaced! My parts kit was missing the grease syringe, I e-mailed them and they said they no longer supply the grease and the manual had been updated. It would be nice if they posted the updated manuals to their website! This is the one I got:https://gxpumpofficial.com/?ref=GXProductsI did a review with pictures and a quick video in another thread.

The reply I got was that they need to be shipped from China and to contact them when my pump needs repair. I agree it would be nice if they updated their manual and did some QC on the Accessories.
GX does sell the accessories and rebuild kits direct from their website:https://gxpumpofficial.com/collections/accessories?ref=GXProductsIt seems most of the products sold from this website ship from NJ, so turnaround time should be better than getting them from China, but I'm not 100% sure that is true of the accessories...
Scott, these GX compressors are pretty nice. They are slower than what you are used to with the YH types but they are very quite and portable. The auto shutoff is a good feature. I have that on my MKII but I could never bring myself to trust taking my eyes off of it. Maybe because it filled guns so fast and with tanks I was dealing with alot more volume and was apprehensive. With the CS3 On my work bench I can just connect the gun, press play and putter around the workbench until it shuts off. I can even still hear the radio playing while it's running. My OrcAir 12/110v is also much louder.
Quote from: MikeCarter on March 15, 2023, 12:13:11 PMThose one way valves that Paul brought up are amazing, I had made one before finding out the Britts had one already, so I ordered one. It’s good for filling pony bottles not guns it’ll probably get air locked on a gun. The CS2 is great , it’s simple, it’s small, light , parts are available and customer service is responsive. I have several compressors yet I ordered the CS2 as a vehicle compressor. I think if you bleed off the air several times during the fill it should get rid of most if the moisture. Why a CS2 instead of the Yong Heng? It’s $200 more with the same features. An extended warranty can be bought for the YH for $35. If the CS2 is a better compressor though, then that’s the way I should go. Thanks.(Ultimately I will just be topping off my 1/2 hour firefighter tanks from maybe 3500 to 4500.)

I just received my gx 2 and so far it’s good. Fills my FX Maverick compact 300cc bottle from 150 to 250 bar in 4 min. I have contacted gx though as the manual says an extra piston ring was to be included in the accessories bag but it wasn’t. Other than that it seems solid. Mine shipped from Ontario California. Only took about a week.

A little more expensive, but hopefully worth the extra $.
