SynRod Air Leak

I recently bought a Benjamin Marauder .22 (SynRod) from a local auction. Waited for my Vevor hand pump to arrive. After finding a couple of leaks on pump I tried to fill the rifle. I immediately heard air coming from the fill nipple connection, disconnected the pump and gave the nipple a few twists. Started pumping again to 3000 PSI and waited until the morning to see the gauge down 500 PSI. I took her out anyways to shoot a magazine of CPHP 14.3 gr pellets.
I conducted a tissue test of the breech and gauge, no air escaping/no movement. However, I had some CMD Keen-Find liquid bubble detector from my brewing days and the fill nipple connection still has a slow leak. My options are to De-Gas and tighten the nipple, or to unscrew the nipple and use either some Blue Loctite thread locker or Teflon tape OR is there another option or recommendation ? Have I missed what to do next ?

Brent, I recently had a leak on my Prod at the foster fill port, it is the check valve o'ring if it is a slow leak, I ordered some polyurethane o'rings from amazon for it (they have them for both just type in marauder foster check valve o'ring replacements) and slowly degassed it from the foster removed the old check valve o'ring installed new one...voila, no leak! I also lubed the o'ring with a little pure silicone grease.

I’ve had good luck on a slow leak from the fill nipple by smearing a tiny dab of silicone grease on the fill nipple when filling. I tried it once as a last resort to removing and it worked. Have used this trick a couple times now with success. I think it helps that I’m filling from a tank so there’s a quick blast of air to push that grease down into the fill nipple. Don’t know if/how it would work handpumping, but it might be worth a shot. My two cents. Very sage advice from previous posters regarding removal and replacement of that O ring though. Just thought since you are handpumping, it might save you some pump time.

most fosters fill valves have a #006 O-ring in them, I heard that the Marauder has a smaller or thinner O-ring, my Suggestion would be to de-gas, remove, clean, inspect or replace O-ring, tape and reinstall, I always put some silicone oil in the fill whip to lube the fill port valve O-ring, every 5-10 fills, it helps keep it working and seals better, not to mention it lubes the internal parts of the gun too.

After replacing the O-Ring (and finding a YouTube video showing me how). I applied some blue Loctite to the top of the threads where the nipple attaches to the housing. I had no clue how to hold and unscrew the nipple and thought the loctite might work this way.
So I took the time to pump her up to 3000 PSI. After an hour I checked the gauge, It's going down again. Unscrewed the cap and observed blue bubbles being blown. Any easy way to disassemble from the housing?
Any ideas or should I contact Benjamin for Part Number 1763-101 and ask for it to be pre-assembled if it doesn't come that way?

Brent, loctite is not a sealant....., Use teflon tape, you should be able to unscrew the valve nipple from the valve end block, if it spins tighten the barrel band grub screw, if you had it off it should come off again, blue loctite is only for bolts that come loose all the time... don't use it as a sealant.
use any teflon tape, wrap at least 3 times with thick type or 6 times with white thin tape.

Just call CROSMAN and ask them to send a new nipple.

I wound up ordering part number 1763-101 just in case then proceeded to remove the fill nipple and replace the black tape (original?) with new teflon tape. Also as suggested I applied a dab of silicone grease to the tip as insurance. Hand pumped her up to 2800 PSI and waited.
It passed the 24 hour test with no leaking and sits at 2800 PSI.
Thank you to Everyone who gave me sage advice !
I look forward to now putting some 14.3 grain pellets into a target (or a squirrel) whatever comes first. 3 loaded magazines at the ready.
Again... Thank You to the contributors.
