See / Read post #30There are tricks to lessen the effect, but no 100% cure ... that conversation for another day.
So the gun has a flex point at the breech that takes very little to bend the gun. At least enough that a mag cant be seated. That sounds scary to me. Sounds like with use the gun could break at the breach and be unusable. Not what I was hoping to hear. A design flaw I hope they fix in the next generation. Everything on the gun seems robust wonder why they didnt stager the joints more or make a thicker breech to combat this issue.

It just flexes it if you over tighten the breech stock screw. And if you do it in this sequence its not a issue. 1. take stock screw out or loosen it a lot then attach scope and rings then air gun up to max fill then snug down breech screw with magazine in gun. If the mag is tight to get out loosen 1/4 turn at a time till it goes in and out ok. If you do that sequence you wont have any issues.

I am being 100% transparent with any/all issues. No, the gun is not going to break, this may well be a perfect storm with the wood warping a few thousandths allowing the stock to act as a fulcrum. I am not posting this to keep people from ordering these guns, I DO want to highlight any potential issues so that we are all aware of any possible issues that may arise ahead of time.
Ordered my .25 Max from PA Thursday afternoon, it should be waiting on me at the UPS Hub after work this coming Thursday. Won't have much time to play for another week. Good report and Thanks David. I can see bedding the receiver area and some of the tube assembly much like I did my DAR. Is there a washer or thimble between the action screw and the stock ? The DAR had none so I added a washer.
Bed the stock properly and it won't be an issue. You could also just pillar bed the stock screw if you don't want to do the whole thing.
I’ve never understood why PCP air rifles do not have two action screws. Can’t really do the job right with only one. Fore and Aft kept it level.

No thimble or washer is present right now.
Dave , I have never had much luck with any quick detach rings, not even with Warne. Just give me a 13mm or 1/2” nut to tighten.
