Thanks everyone. I managed to shoot a target a 6th time again. Mirage and 200 yds hard to see the hits in the black. After waiting 15 min and looking at it thru a spoting scope twice I decided to take another shot. The shot I couldn't find was in dead center and took out the X in the center. So looking at it it looked like the printed xNext year I'm going to run my eagle eye camera setup and record the shots so I can play back if I have a issue. I had my 20 bullets layed out in groups of 5. But the wind was moving around so I took a shot at my sighter target to see what was going on. When I couldn't find the 5th hole I was trying to figure out where I pulled the sighter bullet from. Cost me 20 points deduction but the 6th shot was a 9.
I don't understand why you need to look at the target and try and count holes?.... Surely you just count out 5 bullets, shoot them at the target, and let the chips fall where they may?.... If your gun malfunctioned on one shot, or the wind blew the shot completely off the paper, yeah, that would be a shame, because you would only have 4 shots to score.... The alternative is to do what Doug has done twice now, and shoot a 6th shot at a perfectly acceptable target.... Apparently the odds of taking an extra shot FAR outweigh the chances of missing the paper completely, so WHY take a chance?.... If you need sighters, have them in a separate pile, or just take them out of the box/tin.... I just don't get it....In any case, once again, congratulation to both Tom & Doug for winning.... WELL DONE to both of you.... Bob
But.... It was way better to leave one off than add an extra hole LOL.
