Hi,
Long time lurker, but not finding the info im looking for, im sure and have seen this question asked time and time again, but i have searched and can not find.
I am looking for:
Synthetic if at all possible
Short or portable
High shot count
.22 caliber
Side lever and shrouded
Removable bottle or cylinder
The ones that are removable bottle all i can find is Gauntlet (my price range) or Priest and Impact. I dont know if the R10 or Nova or Jumbo are removable.
I am down with choosing the At44s, but would rather have a bottle for high shot count and able to carry another bottle out in the back country. Mostly hunting use, i would consider spending more, but not Priest more

If you really plan on carrying extra air in the field you could consider a buddy bottle too
....... so you not limited to a rifle that can exchange bottle/tube.

Thats kinda what im looking for in a pcp rifle, once the first bottle is depleted i can screw that bottle off and screw the filled bottle on.
I have thought also a bullboss but a lot of people complain about weight and action problems.
Im ready to spend up to $700, but i just cant decide.

I think he ment a buddy bottle so you could air up any gun and the tank wouldn't be dedicated to one gun

You want Short or portable ––> Have you thought of a bullpup?
High shot count ––> Are you willing to have LOW power to get HIGH shot count? Otherwise, options are scarce at that budget.
Removable bottle or cylinder
––> Note that every gun is different, but here's an issue with that: I had considered the Gauntlet: Shooting the tank from 3000 to 1100psi, when it falls of the regulator. Take bottle off, screw new bottle on. Shoot another bottle. Then refill each bottle back up from 1100 to 3000. Well, too good to be true. The Gauntlet requires you to empty the leftover 1100psi – what a terrible waste.
––> I have been wanting this feature, too, and have come to the conclusion that carrying a pump is not much more hassle than carrying an extra air cylinder, if I’m carrying a backpack anyhow with water, food, and a jacket. The additional bottles are in any case way overpriced.
You probably checked the AirForce line – they have removable tanks, and lots of shots, especially if you adjust the power down on the models that allow that.
Diana P1000 has a removable tank. They have it in black (though I’m not sure if it’s wood painted black, or some other material).

The BSA R10 SE has a removable bottle. Up to 225 shots per fill. Regulated. Available in “Black Edition” and “Realtree Camo.” 40" the standard length, 38.2" the carbine. Shrouded.
Hope you can find what you’re looking for. I have gotten so frustrated searching everywhere including China, and not finding the features that I want. But someone said that this is the golden age of PCPs. It will take a short couple of years until we get what we want, at prices much more realistic.
Maybe you buy yourself now your “second-best gun,” knowing that in a couple of years your dream model will have been designed. Or you just shoot what you have so you can afford the dream gun when it comes on the market.

Oh i see now, so what would be a recommendation? Can i get a high shot count without a bottle gun?
Who makes a synthetic like R10, Nova etc that is shortish,light, quite, packable?
I seen the Artemis M16A, any sellers for USA for that?

the taipan veteran .22 has high power and high shot count an incredible trigger, insanely accurate and is compact and relatively light. been researching a bullpup for awhile and saved up for one and let me telk you a big price tag gun is worth it. Literally leagues away from everything else I have owned or shot for that matter.
They run around 1289 dollars. Come in black painted wood or regular wood. With a tune can get around 100 shots a fill. I have a hard time seeing anyone using that many shots in a day of hunting.
maybe it's just me and where i am at but never had such bountiful targets that I would even use close to a 100.

Your specs are ideal for what 95% of us all want... but no such gun exists, even for $2000.
And if one did exist, for $700, you’d likely be finding some shortcomings in quality or reliability.
All the technology currently exists. And there are probably several manufacturers with the equipment, marketing and design skills to bring it in at a reasonable price. Hopefully they will sooner than later.
Until then there are compromises: a pumper like a Nova, a good springer, or a reasonable gun with a buddy bottle (but it won’t be within budget).
Personally I’d get a good used mainstream middle of the road popular gun like thousands of other shooters already have. Lots of help and parts readily available. Learn how to shoot it well and count your shots/make your shots count.
There isn’t any magic bullet out there or otherwise we’d already all own that perfect super gun! That we’re struggling to suggest a good gun should tell you something.

The black editions might be hard to find in the US, though there are many UK sellers. You might try to contact the BSA/ GAMO representative in the US to make a special order.
The SPA / Artemis line is Chinese, but has gotten some good critiques.

Sellers of this line in the US used to be MRod, but their customer service, well, and it seems they are mostly out of stock. Noone knows when the new shipment arrives (if it ever does.... It's just too bad, the MRod guy had a really great idea I think -- now to follow through with it [and the necessary customer service]....).

I can highly recommend the BSA R 10 black comes with sling studs great shot count descent mag and is very accurate Pyramydair had them on sale for 600 bucks not sure if sale still running. Great buy I have a Wolverine and a Crown and shoot my BSA just as much

I wouldn't write off the Hatsan AT44 so quickly . It has all of the features you want . I would have a real serious look at the Tact model in QE . The sidelever is decent ( can be made smother with a bit of elbow grease ) has a collapsible stock with adjustable comb ,comes with sling studs ,shrouded barrel , big power and a removable cylinder . The only real downside is the weight , probably close to 9 lbs with a good size scope . Had one in .25 in the unshrouded model and still regret selling it . I'm also sure with a bit of shopping around you can find one for half of the price your budget is . That means a yong heng compressor to fill is within reach .

AT44 is another good chose mine is in 25 added a Hatsan reg.still amazed at the accuracy of this gun Quattro trigger is very good if you know how to adjust (very small adjustments) but gun in stock form is very rough and pron to jamming a few hours work can take care of both.Having said all that the BSA R10 is still head and shoulders above the Hatsan

Wow, thanks for all your advice and suggestions.
Being kind off ignorant, how would i fill up with a buddy bottle. Just a line from the buddy to the bottle/cylinder to fill it? Are there different max pressures a buddy could hold depending on the volume that the gun holds?
Im taking another look at the Nova, R10, i would love a taipan veteren, vulcan tactic, aa hw1000, but i would be slicing my own throat on that kind of purchase.

Obviously you can find something for less than $350 but it will either be heavier or not much cheaper. But yes as long as you have a second $60 hose with the proper fittings you can fill it from your larger tank, pump, or compressor (even more $$$). You're trying to buy a Mercedes on a Chevy budget.
When it all boils down and you have XXX amount of cash just get a Gauntlet or Gamo Urban, a decent pump and scope, and go shooting. Perfection is still a few grand away but you can can a Helluvalot fun being 95% there. Get a really good Chevy instead of a half-^&* Mercedes.
Not that I follow my own advice mind you but I'm in high old fart mode tonight.

I think i am going the at44 route, ive seen others say not to go qe, but to get a moderator for more supression?
Or just go qe? I am looking at the at44s-10 short with open sights.

I will add suupport to the hatsan at44-10 ..... powerful, accurate, removable cylinder.... ohhhhh very tunable.... and lots of info on the GTA to make it better.
Now, there is also the diana outlaw, at a discount at airguns of arizona... per the brochure..... regulated, side lever, powerful, efficient.... $500 bucks

Im looking at that diana outlaw, regulated, suppressed, 6.75 lbs, wood is the only bad, guess i could wrap it.
Its kinda sixes, a reged at44, with moderator would be over what the diana would cost, benifit to me is sythetic. Decisions are such a pain sometimes.

Anyway, i just purchased the at44S-10 for $349 its the short one with sights. Searching for moderator now, any suggestions?
I want to thank everone with their help, i will either have to wait until what i want is produced.
I do like the Impact, but from what im hearing, customer service not worthy, you would never know it from youtube reviewers, i think the best guns are sent to them to be reviewed. So they are dishonest reviews is what i percieve.

-You need to find the best pellet for your rifle, but remember to stop searching at some point.
If you follow these advices you are going to be happy with your decisions.

Thanks again, I went with a Donnyfl Koi for a LDC. I tried with Neil, but his price matched the Koi, and the Koi i can take apart and its now.
Plus i was wanting something i can use the open sights with until i find and have $ for a scope.
