Wow, I have never seen anything like this. I have shot two kinds of pellets through my new Crosman Blaze nitro, the Cosman pointed and Daisy flatpoints. The Crosmans shot into about 1.5 inches at 25 yards and the Daisy flatpoints did just a little worse. Both were good enough for hitting the 2 inch spinner.
I finished off the 250 Daisy flatpoints and most of the 500 Crosmans so I grabbed 1,000 of the Daisy pointed since they had them at Wallyworld cheap. I can't get 3 out of 5 on the 12 inch by 18 inch target backer. Just to verify, I put 5 Crosmans into a little over and inch on the same target, so it wasn't me or the gun.
I found that the skirt was getting dinged up by closing the barrel. I would open the barrel after closing it and the skirt was dinged. I then used a pen to seat the pellets 1/4 inch or so into the chamber and things got better, 5 into about a 10 inch circle. I do not have to seat the Crosmans or the Daisy flatpoints this way, just push them in with my finger and shoot.
I tried them in my 880 and they did better, about 6 inches at 25 yards, but that's still not good enough to hit the spinner even at 10 yards, I'm not real fond of pumping the thing, and it takes longer to get a pellet into the chamber of that thing than it does to pump it up.

Would those possibly the Daisy Precision Max pointed pellets? I bought a tin of 250 of these, and they are bar none, the worst shooting pellets in every air rifle I've tried them in. How about a three shot benched group at 11 yards withe every pellet at least three inches from the others? Tried them in my Crosman Model 66 with 4 power scope and got those results. The same gun same conditions will shoot 5 shot groups with the Crosman heavy's of 1/4-5/16" center to center.

The Daisy pointed are the worst with the Gamo a very close second in my .177 Bone Collector

The old daisy pointed .22 walmart use to sell was my qb78-79 and B-26 favorite pellets shooting dead on. The new ones which is a tad harder is only good for making fishing weights with same air rifles. >:( ???

they are barely usable in Benji Phoenix .22 NP2 but shoot good enough in the daisy 822. was nailing lizards at 10yrd

They were awful in my Crosman 2100. 1/4" groups at 25 yards went to 1 1/2" groups.

Do you have a picture of the tin of pointed pellets you were using ? I want to see if it is different than my small tin of Daisy pointed that has been giving me good accuracy ?

Just watched a Youtube video of a gent trying 3 different pellets in his Gamo Varmint air rifle. One of the pellets was the Daisy Precision Max pointed pellets. He got a very nice 3 shot group at 10 yards, of about 1/4".
