Well, it shoots. Put some oil in it and let it sit overnight. Pierced 7 layers of Amazon box, just from 20 ft away in the garage. Shots plenty straight just not so consistent on elevation due to missing rear sight leaf. Guessing no chance of finding one of those somewhere is it? Again, thanks for all the info. Years ago I made a sight leaf and thumb wheel for a Diana or Haenel similar to this, with only files and a lathe plus many hours of tinkering (the thread of course was metric). As Steve mentioned, you may be ahead of the game to start with a pre-war BSA leaf from Knibbs or Protek Supplies in the UK; note that some sights have a leaf with an "H" cross section viewed from above, while others are "U" shaped.Don R.
