I've seen video's by Bin Tac (Sig Shooter YT channel). He fires the gun while holding the bolt forward, to keep it from re-cocking the gun with the magazine out while doing minor repairs. I guess an option would be to insert a fully loaded mag. Hold the bolt forward, while firing the gun. Make sure it is pointed in a safe direction as it is going to fire a round. Then "carry" the gun in that configuration until ready to "cock and load" another round.
I always thought that was stupid to do it that way John, I decock mine by hand (NO not pull the trigger and hold bolt forward), I pulled the bolt back, ease it forward until pulling the trigger engages the sheer and let it forward, easy peasy
Ken unless you have a ram rod it's best to shoot it out, everytime I'm getting ready to leave the woods I'll pull the clip and shoot the pellet out in hopes of it being at a squirrel but dead logs work good too.
