Sounds like you dinked with the trigger adjustment if it's a T06 and have it adjusted too light and you need to back off the adjustment screws and start over again. They could also have moved from vibration but I doubt it.
Sounds like the best option is to put it up and wait until I have a spring compressor so I can safely disassemble, clean, lube, and sort it out before doing anything else. Thanks!
Just a word of warning, if the spring is broken which IMHO it is, if your trigger is a TO1 do not buy the vortec sping kit for it. The spring is too long and you'll end up with coil bind before the piston will lock up to the trigger unless you delete the top hat. TO6 trigger is fine but the to1 isn't. Not sure about the to5 trigger.
Hello all,I have been working some more with my old 48. It fired well for about 30 shots or so, now the cocking action is rough, not smooth anymore. Also, it clicks for the seer and clicks for the safety at the end of travel- it's holding the bolt, there's no spring tension on closing the cocking arm. But, I push in the safety and the trigger is dead. Takes up all the way like there's still a safety disconnect or something. I recock it again, slowly, and it will fire. I do not feel safe with it until I figure out what's going on- I worry there's something hanging up inside that is holding the seer apart from the trigger; if so, it could fire randomly.Any ideas? Just need to be torn down and cleaned up?Thanks!
