Not much posting going on here... so I thought I should. Had the UK rifle out today shooting in the backyard. Anybody else shooting the .177 cal

That's a cool rifle! How old is it? How does it shoot?
I have a UK Supersport in .22 and Lightning XL in .177. I used to have an old-school Lightning in .177. It's the gun I miss the most. Never shot an Airsporter.

I have an .177 Airsporter S. These are really nice airguns, well made and a lot of fun to shoot. Mine likes RWS Superdomes.

I have a BSA Cadet from the 1940's that was my Dad's. After WW2 my Grandad brought the family over to live in England while he was still stationed there. He bought my dad the BSA. So growing up I was a big BSA fan (still am) as I learn to shoot with the Cadet. I remember lusting over the BSA Airsporter in the catalogues. I never got one. I did pick up a BSA Scorpion pistol in junior high which I still have. I also still have the BSA Cadet and had David Slade reblue it a few years ago and have it close to looking new. Thanks for the memories. One day I hope to run across one in nice condition at the same time I have some cash in my pocket the wife doesn't know about.

Here's mine. I mounted a Cabela's 2X7 scope which is about perfect for this rifle. Accurate, fun to shoot and deadly on paintballs at 25 yards! ;)

There was an Airsporter in .22 advertised on Craigslist a while back...I thought the price, at $350, wasn't bad, but I really wasn't familiar with the rifle, and honestly, it didn't move me so much that I did any research on it. If it comes back up in the future, it might be something that I should consider!

What makes the gun unique is the top loading feature and cocking lever. I picked mine up for 125 a few yrs ago.

I purchased a .22 Airsporter at the OGCA show about two years ago. Its a real beauty, the metal work is perfect; but there are a few dings and small dents on the stock. When you cock this rifle the tap opens up for loading. I have only fired it 12 or 15 times. There are no grooves on top for a scope. The middle line reads;"AIRSPORTER" .22 AIR RIFLE with the piled arms at the end of airsporter. The bottom line reads MADE IN ENGLAND.............................
I found the serial # on the bottom and it has a "GB" prefix on it which according to the chart I found indicates 1956-1958 manufacture.

Hi. I've understood that the pointy piston was on the Mk1's. There's a conical cutout in the cylinder. I think they thought it would improve air flow. Must be a very expensive design?
The coin is to scrape off rust. If it's only rust spots, I use the 0000 grade steel wool with Ballistol, but if it's quite bad rust, I use the edge of a copper coin and Ballistol. Someone taught me that and it works well.
