Did some research on dovetails for sight mounts. I could not find a good source for a good print so with what I did learn I used to draw up this print. Now this may not be perfect but it is as close as I can determine it to be.
The 3/8" uses a 45° (90° included) angle
https://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/01827245
The 11mm uses a 30° (60° included) angle
http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-tools-supplies/power-tools-accessories/milling-cutters/high-speed-steel-wilson-dovetail-cutter-prod661.aspx
The dimension is measured using a 1mm pin to get the proper width. Shown in the bottom view of this print.
If anyone has more info please add to this post.

Unfortunately the dimensions are not legible on my screen.... I just use a 60" Dovetail cutter and cut until the inside edge of the grooves are 3/8" apart.... Never had a problem mounting a scope....

Can you click on the pic and bring it up in Photobucket? If not I 'll see if I can make it bigger.
I just redid it.

+1 for Bob. The pin method is really good for high accuracy when making running components. but as long as you have it centered and straight the outside dimensions will work great. After all, You are using it as a fixed attachment point no running fit. Those types of dove tail aren't for running fit operations anyway.

Engineering is the art of modeling materials we don't wholly understand, into shapes we can't precisely analyze, so as to withstand forces we can't properly asses, in such a way that the public has no reason to suspect the extent of our ignorance.

Someone was asking about the dimensions so I did a little research. I plan on putting dovetails on all my future builds so I too was curious about it. Just made a drawing and posted it for anyone to use that does not know.

I guess those differences explain why a scope mount might go on perfectly level on one gun, but appear to be tilted a tiny bit on another. One of those frustrating things where it is close enough to "work", but not close enough to "work well."

An engineer by nature. The affliction is knowing that everything can be made better. It is easy to make one that works, but it is difficult to make on that works WELL.
