Thanks guys. Ron, I do have experience with power tools. I took two shop classes a year from 8-12th grade. But I definitely understand that accidents do happen and they can happen quick. I've never worked with aluminum, hence my question. We don't live close to family around here and my school does not allow graduates to use the shop due to liability. I wonder if paid shipping both ways and enough cash for a 6 pack would entice any of our more tool endowed members to chop it up for me.

I wonder if paid shipping both ways and enough cash for a 6 pack would entice any of our more tool endowed members to chop it up for me. no problem my friend, just didn't know your experience, and don't want to see anyone get hurt.Aluminum is pretty easy to work with. as long as you know "the rules" of aluminum, like as SixShooter pointed out.You could also use a Hacksaw, cut just outside of your line, and quickly clean up the cut with a hand file.Shipping it to someone for such a simple cut is probably cost prohibitive,... and you can get a Jig Saw and File from HF for probably less than it would cost to ship both ways. (they go on sale OFTEN) for under $20.
