Have you tried a modified chain breaker?https://www.harborfreight.com/heavy-duty-chain-breaker-66488.html?
I have the 20 ton press from HF and have used it many times for vehicle repairs. Also used it many times to replace electric motor and other large shaft bearings. Used it once to straighten a badly bent 1" steel bar (a big bucket hinge pin) for work, but that seemed too easy for it. I think the only time I stressed it even a little bit was when rebuilding the rear end differential for an old Durango.More recently I use it to straighten my Hatsan Edge trigger blades, but I think a 16oz hammer could do that job.https://www.harborfreight.com/20-ton-shop-press-32879.htmlPrice has gone up as it was less than $150 on sale when I purchased mine a few years back. Now it is overkill for most of my home, hobby, and airgun use.For your application and all of my current airgun needs, I think the 1 ton HF arbor press could be the ideal tool. https://www.harborfreight.com/1-ton-arbor-press-3552.htmlIt is on my current holiday shopping list.
If I understand your original post correctly, I think the 1 ton arbor press is more than adequate. If you are not careful it might deform/crush the tube. Some very dangerous but interesting things can happen in a press...
