Looking for instructions for a (cad proficient) Layman

I want to design a single pump system (manual, no gas)
Can anyone direct me to a scource where I can educate myself and build a cad model that can then be critiqued?

Your question is quite broad. What do you mean by ‘manual, no gas’ ?

Hello, Simon! Welcome to the forum!  Am I understanding you correctly, that you are wanting to design a single stroke (one pump) pneumatic system? I've looked at a couple different CAD programs and realize I probably need teaching on how to use them. They sure aren't organized in a what that is natural to my understanding.  All I can tell you is to look at different existing systems and see what you can learn from them. Then think about how they work and could be made better.

Just a thought, but what are you going to be shooting out of the shotgun? If lead, a single stoke pump gun isn't capable of producing enough power. If your shooting rock salt then that is a different story. Even a very small shot load weighs a lot from an airgunning standpoint and requires high end  big bore energy levels.

I would suggest buying a budget co2 gun and going from there. The qb78 has a very good, simple trigger and is a great platform to work on

I have a .22 qb78 "shotgun" that shoots rock salt I put in empty  pill shells. It patterns about 10X10 inches at 20 feet and gives the hornets under my deck a run for their money.

I also have a $30 Daisy pumper that I use pellet foam for the "wad" and pour coarse sea salt in from the barrel. Half the price of a Bug A Salt and works way better.

All the cad programs work in a similar fashion, pick a freebie and spend a couple of hours on YouTube. An afternoon and you'll be more than proficient

I intend to shoot 2cm (aprox) rubber balls. factors like shore hardness affect weight and density, and basicly I want to use shot with just enough give to not impeed firing )loss of energy traveling down the barrel due to compression under stress, ect.
Basicaly I want these to be strongly felt rather than hurt on impact with a person.

 I have seen the daisy pump action and liked its simple design. I will look at the others you mentioned.

 I am proficient in rhino, those pics I posted are some of my older work.
