I have an easy fix for you buddy! Don't shoot the posts. JK I hope you come up with a good solution Travis. Been there done that, I shot the post, pellet hit me, I didn't shoot the posts anymore. All shooters should wear eye protection while enjoying the sport at the target range. Plus it teaches good habits for young shooters.
i had the same problem and this is what i came up with. i cut V grooves in the front of the posts so from the side it looks like Zs stacked on top if each other. mine where about 2" deep at a 45* angle.this way the pellet may go up into the wood, or down into the wood. i found with my 15fpe rifle they where directed to the center of the V and lodged in there.
Don't shoot the post they say..... Looked at the uni strut stuff , will investigate that further, thanks guys.Still hoping I can find a simple solution though. I don't have any issues with the 15+ ft lb guns it's the 1377s at 4 pumps or so that are coming back to meh.
Just don't shoot the post.
