There was an article where the cheap jewelers scales faked repeatability. I will did for the article and post the link if I find it.I have become frustrated and lost confidence in the $20 scales I've purchased from Amazon. If yours works good I'd try one out. Thanks,Taso
(1) Artillery Hold – Find the Right Variation of the Artillery Hold (A-Hold) (2) Let the Gun Choose Its Favorite Pellets (3) Watch for Your Enemy – the Wind (4) Pellet Weight Makes Not Such a Large DifferenceHardAir Magazine did a recent review of the FTT pellet. https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/hn-field-target-trophy-22-caliber-14-66-grain-pellet-test-review/They also found a fairly large weight variation, and the average pellet weight 15.00gr, which is 2.3% more than the advertised weight of 14.66gr. However, just from the weight point of view, this weight variation does not make such a great difference where the pellet hits downrage (unless the weigh difference also causes a significant change in shape of the pellet). Using ChairGun, and shooting both a 14.66gr and a 15.00gr pellet (ME the same), the 15.00gr pellet hits only 2/100 of an inch lower than the 14.66gr, a hair’s breadth.
I share your frustration about not being able to hit your target more consistently! Your 4" groups sound like mine. Like you, I have not that much experience with spring-powered air rifles. Like you I have a Hatsan that has given me much frustration. I thought I had learned the artillery hold. Matthias, Have you run some cleaning patches down your gun barrel after you got it new? Always one of the first things to consider. I used the product Ballistol on my Hatsan and got a lot of brown gunk on the cleaning patches. I did this several times to get all of it out and then followed up by a few dry patches. Another point that may help your accuracy.
