How about something more long lasting in the view of others on the forum such as ...Replacing "OLD TIMER" with "Honored Contributor" or like recognition for those select few who are in founder Genes own words ... A Cut Above
I am flattered by the nominations, but I would like to see the honour go to Lloyd Sikes.... Lloyd quietly works in the background when he isn't overwhelmed with family projects.... His accomplishments include the ePCP system used in the Crosman Rogue (dumbed down by the Crosman bean-counters), and the very first working balanced valve in a PCP.... He helped Tom at AAA on his, and did the prototype development work for Travis on the ART/SS Valve.... He has the uncanny ability to cut through the BS and get to the truth, with extreme knowledge of PCP internal ballistics and materials science.... A perfect example of this is his challenging of the long held idea that 1650 fps was the absolute speed limit for PCPs on air, which he blew away with several shots at over 2000 fps.... Although I have never met Lloyd in person, all the dealings I have had with him show him to be a straight-up guy, with high ethics.... I am proud to consider him a friend, and support him as Person of the Year....Bob
True enough...Mods and Admin carry on a thankless job here.Recognition is due.
The way I see it, Bob can't dodge this honor forever. His ability and willingness to teach his knowledge to the airgun community is unmatched, and as a result many people have enjoyed greater success in this hobby and sport. So yeah, Bob.
Choices are hard but I put Hector Medina at the top of my list for this year, though Longhunter and NCED have been very helpful as well.
