It seems to be all about a free website that's no longer free, where it's owner passed away and the "helper" that took over seems to be commercializing it. Fair enough, hosting costs money.

However, I'm not planning on downloading a ton of stuff, and don't know if what I want is even there (or if it's beyond my skill set to make use of it).

Preamble done, is there anyone in particular likely to have taken advantage of the download when still available, or a best-place to post and ask?

What do I "need"? For now (yeah, I know...), the service manual for Sheridan E20, and (maybe) Crosman 140.

Well, for the 140, there's one on ebay, compiled by DT Fletcher, search for; 'Crosman Arms Company Model 140, 147, 147BP, 1400 Rifles: Owner's Manuals, Factor'.  Includes the service manuals, $22.50 and free shipping.  Used to be a book that covered a whole bunch of Crosman rifles and pistols,  100 through 600, I think.

I haven't seen one for the Sheridan.

Actually was hoping for a pdf, these seem to be five or six pages?

I've seen a few YouTube vids out there that covered the basics pretty well.

Thanks James, that 140 is in pieces waiting for parts so I'll never get an easier opportunity to see how the factory recommends setting up stuff like pump arm length...

On my home computer I have the Crosman Factory Service manual on .pdf it cover all of the older models.
  I think I have posted it on threads here before... but may, because of it's size, I just posted the link to the one you are referring to.
I'll try again either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Found it.. it is 10.3 meg so lets see if this loads.

 I search manuals for all of my guns and what I find I download and save.

As I PM'd Scott, it's useful. Just for the record before you barrage Scott and I for a copy, please know what it's not.

There are step by step dissassembly instructions like "remove breech screw 140-35". Then, "remove the breach plug". It doesn't tell you there's a plastic sleeve on that screw that gets stuck in the breach plug or how to get it out of there.

That plastic washer IS shown in the parts list however. In short  there's just enough rope (information) to hang yourself if you didn't get the factory training that goes with the manual.

Most of us here will find the manual useful, thank you Scott (!), just be aware it's not a pictorial training guide...
