Bag rests for target shooting

What are your preferences for bag rests and how do you set yours up when target shooting? What goes into your choices?

Please differentiate springer shooting from pcp/multipump/co2 shooting.

I use Caldwell front bag and no rear bag but lately I've been using bipods alot.

I use Caldwell bags front and rear. There are other brands too that are good. What I look for is a bag that I can fill myself. That way you can fill to how full you want it; meaning either soft or tight. I like it a little less than full so it has a slightly soft feel that my rifle can sink in a bit. I also like to fill them with pinto beans. They give me a consistency that I like. All pcp,co2 and low power springers just get placed in the bags. Higher power springers (12fpe) rest on my open hand which then rests in the bag. Hope that helps.

Same as Avator for me, Caldwell up front and nothing in the back.  Also have been experimenting with a magpul bipod on my Notos.

I use a set of Allens, front and rear that I got from Walmart for darn near anything.

I only shoot springers off a bench. I tried a Caldwell Tac Driver bag way back. The "V" the forearm fits in seemed to me to hold the gun too tight or puts pressure on the gun to the side contrary to the artillery hold. So now I use a plain shot bag like a mini pillow shape on top of 4 bricks, two long way two on top crossway, sometimes 6. No bag in back under the butt stock. I don't place my non-firing hand between the bag and forearm. I place that hand on the table close to my chest with the butt stock resting in the fork of the thumb and four finger, finger tips resting on the bicep of the firing arm. It's not exactly true but I like to say I hold the gun so loose if I coughed I'd drop the gun.

Gonna give this a try in the next casual match with "the barrel bandit" aka my p-rifle with a barrel secured rather than wandering.

When I get serious for long range.. I use a "Stinger" rest with a towel draped over it.
 But that is off topic for "Bags".

I was using a $10 China bag, until I dropped it and all the beans came out.
Now I m back to using a tightly rolled blanket.

PCP ... here the SKOUT with a custom built Bag Rider arm to rest the butt of rifle within the cradle of a smaller bag.
Super handy way to get support on an otherwise odd butt end profile.

I have a Pyramyd Air pellet shipping box stuffed with the foam protective packing stuffed in it as if the pellet tins were still in it. I wrapped it with duct tape and karate chopped a groove in it for the gun to rest in.... works pretty good.

 My first and favorite for springers is a camo cloth cooler stuffed with old t shirts. PCP, Stinger rest, or bipods rear bag, or caldwell bag front /rear.
