looks like i can get crown point for about 55$ a night IF i use exchange points ... i plan to call them to see what it costs w/o using points ...
i will probably have to book for the entire week If i use my resort points, which would not so good to waste the $$$ for the days i would not be there ...
maybe we will see rates for the sites listed show up and i may change my mind.

I voted Crown Point because I already sent them an email. Of course, I haven't heard anything back by way of a confirmation, so I probably need to call and give a credit card retainer.
Crown Point has rooms as well as cabins. In fact, the cabins look to be more "rustic". They have rooms with one and two beds, in case you need extra space when you sleep with your guns. ;D

Booked a cabin at the Crown Point yesterday. $89 per night. I think the cabins are the only option for us, but that ain't bad at all. There are different size cabins depending on the number of people per.
The place is close to the shoot and has a restaurant. I believe some toys like a free canoe come with it if anyone wants to get out on the lake for a while. May be wrong on that one, not sure.

Glad to see this is filling up. I spoke with Gwyn the other day and she said it’s filling up but would like to have more to make the dates solid for them. They are holding a group of rooms for us. I know the GTA group can fill it up, so if your on the fence on this, decide soon and get your room reserved. This is a first grab situation for the GTA folks. As time goes on lodging will be getting full.
I will be beginning advertising for the shoot/Show next month. I’ll also be branching out to other forums and message boards announcing the shoot/Show. Once that begins, rooms might get tight. We would still have Cedar Glade and Box Hound Marina to use and they are in town. Otherwise we will need to venture out to Salem for the CottonWood inn.
Before we know it, May will be here....whoooowhoooo!!!!

Is there a car rental business in or near horseshoebend ? google says NO, however maybe a nearby town ?
I am thinking maybe the wife would fly in and drive to the fun shoot, drop off the rental and ride home with me ...

Memphis or Little Rock she can fly in to and rent a car. Still a bit of a drive.

Thank you Dave. I googles about 90 minutes from the nearest airport to the fun shoot. I will check how close those locations are to our shoot. I would not mind a 30 min drive to go get her. SHHHHH dont tell her i said only 30 minutes. ;D
Not sure she would want to make the 90 minute drive, however she is a University Professor and cannot skip out when i want leave for the shoot.
** I am unwilling to drive out Saturday morning. ;D

I called Crown Point and reserved a 1 bedroom cabin Thursday thru Saturday for the wife and I. I've already started a list of stuff to sell/swap 8)

Well, I have a hold on the room at Crown Point while i ponder for a few hours ... going to cost me less than what 3 days would cost if i did not use my "points", yet not by much ..
i will have it from the 12th - 19th though i dont think i would drive down until the 13th or 14th depending on how things went here. If i show up early, i guess i can look the site over and maybe chat with whomever is there at that time.

If you are planning on getting lodging nailed down, better do it soon....like REALY soon. Once the promo video and day to day show itinerary are solid, this show will go full advertising mode and it will become more difficult from that point on to find a bed. Get booking ASAP.
We still have wild and free camping next to the lake just a hundred yards from the main firing line...so don’t count yourself out if you are late.

The TX is dialed in and is sweet no doubt. I dont think that either of us will be able to kick butt though ;D im guessing we will be tied up keeping the show/shoot rolling smooth. There are a lot of fine details this time around. I’m thinking the night shoot will be the most fun as the Expo will be closed so Michelle and I will be able to move around more then.

I’ve spoken to Gwyn at Crown Point today and she “might” be able to get one more in......
If you are just waking up to realize the shoot is just days away and still need a room, it is still possible to get in at Crown. Otherwise I think Cedar Glade still has rooms.
