Hatsan Flashpup .25

I purchased a Hatsan Flashpup in .25, from the classifieds here, a few weeks ago. I put a Mueller 4.5-14x40 scope on it that I borrowed from my Savage MkII, since I don't have much opportunity to shoot firearms these days. I may switch to a different scope at some point, but this gets me shooting without needing to sink money into glass right away. The low rings that are on the MkII were too low for the Flashpup, so I ordered some medium rings. These worked, but I really had to get down on the cheekpiece to get a good sight picture, uncomfortably so. I got a set of high rings and it feels about right. I ended putting the scope very far forward since I am a taller guy, 6'2", and I get my cheek weld at the very front of the cheekpiece; my nose is just shy of the magazine. I do end up putting a good bit of the stock above my shoulder when i mount it and if I could change anything, I would have the butt pad a bit lower, but it seems like it should be OK. I was starting to worry that I might not be able to shoot such a short gun comfortably while getting the scope in the right place, but I think it will work well in this configuration.
I am attempting to attach a picture of it as it is configured.
It has been a busy past few weekends, and this weekend looks like rain and low 40s. Next weekend will be busy as well. So, I am thinking I might set up an 8 foot folding table in the spare bedroom, with Caldwell bags, heavy duty pellet trap, and chronograph and start looking at my power curve. I was going to sight it in and do a little plinking first, but I think I can have some fun getting some numbers from the chrony while I wait for the weather and my schedule to cooperate.
I am hoping to get this thing shooting well with JSB 33 grain or H&N 31 grain pellets. Can I use either one for graphing my power curve and, if the other proves to be more accurate, still be pretty close to a good curve with the other?

I would use the 25.39s or whatever is cheapest for getting your power curve where you want it. Then switch over to the other pellets to fine tune. I'm betting the JSBs will be the most accurate either way.

The forum member I got mine from got it refurbished. There is a blemish on the front part of the wood of the trigger guard, maybe that is all that made it a refurb. I know a lot of people returned theirs due to the problems with the first round of magazines, which seems to have been fixed with the new red ones. Probably not a bad one to get refurbished.
I was shouldering it and getting a feel for it last night, and I found that, with that scope as far forward as it is, it is balanced exactly at the pistol grip. I also really like the large wooden trigger guard, since my left hand fits there very naturally for offhand and sitting shooting positions. I am definitely looking forward to actually getting out and shooting it.

My standard .22 Flash likes JSB pellets better than H&N or any others. I bought assortment packs of JSB and H&N pellets, and also tried Crosmans. The 18gr and 25gr pellets were most accurate for me. The lighter pellets were definitely not as accurate, even at 15 yards.

Well, mine was delivered. In Omaha Nebraska! Hopefully Hatsan gave me the wrong tracking number.
