Got My HW35 Back From Motorhead
Frank in Fairfield:
Had him put a VORTEK kit in it.
It was shooting fine but I was looking for a few more FPS.
Scott also did his magic to smooth up the cocking action and of course he smoothed up the trigger.
Just arrived home and touched off a quick 35-40.
In a word....WOW!!!
Now I am going to put the Beeman/Williams Peep on and change the front insert.
Looks the TX and the R1 may have to languish in the gun rack for awhile.
Leastways, until I get this new spring and piston seal broken in.
Thanks again Scott for your typically excellent work. ;)
Frank in Fairfield:
So,
I put the Beeman/Williams Peep on the HW35.
Left the front post on for now.
Took my time from a standing, offhand position, breathing real careful from 10 yards.
8.2 grain RWS Meisterkugeln WC.
The first five was in the group down around 4:30 or so.
The next five were the two at around 9 o'clock and the three up at 12 o'clock.
One can see why the HW35 has been in production since 1951.
If someone not 69 years old was shooting this rifle, it would be sight to behold... ;)
palonej:
Sounds like the Motorman did it again Frank!!
Enjoy!!
Sweet shooting also!!
Motorhead:
Great shooting Frank !
That HW35 you got was pretty sweet and of such low use being in such excellent shape for its age.
Few tins worth down range from now would love you to revisit how it is shooting ;)
Calmark:
It looks like the two of you are getting along very well. ;D I'm glad to hear the tuneup was a success. I bet you'll start catching up to the shot-count number of your R1 pretty quickly now! ;D
