Crosman 600 Paint

(1/5) > >>

sneitzel:
I recently came into possession of a Crosman 600.
After a good cleaning, lube and a seal kit it is functioning well.
Cosmetically however it is showing its age.
I want to strip it down a refinish it.
What type of paint/process is recommended?

Pelle:
The next post shows the Aluminum Black product. I like it. Used a heat gun

Hoosier Daddy:
The 600 is such a precision fit mechanism, I wouldn't use any "paint" on it.
I would agree with the Aluminum Black suggestion.

KWK:
A competent painter (me many years exp hobby and pro) can paint anything. Sometimes better than original. Read what I said in this thread shown below. I understand most don't want to go to the extent I do. In the late 60's/70's I was inspired by the work I saw in the old Auto World catalogs. Model cars. Mint Crosman pistols are available for collectors. If yours is scratched up and you want to strip and paint it go for it. A satisfying endeavor.

These are some other things I enjoyed repainting and using. Original colors custom matched.

Thanks everyone.
I actually have some of that aluminum black already (easy way to touch up an AR-15 lower) but hadn't considered that.

When I do tackle this project I will post some pictures.
