I'm just curious. In the states that allow deer hunting with an air rifle, what the rules are? Certain calibers, pressures. Is it only allowed during gun season? I live in TN so it's not allowed here. I was just wondering what the rules are. Thanks

Here in Tennessee, the regulations specify NO airguns .25 caliber or smaller.  But it does not address the possibility of an air gun larger than .25 caliber.

Georgia is a very airgun friendly state. Deer can be hunted with any airgun .30 cal or larger. There are no fpe or velocity rules at present.

Airguns can be used during Primitive Weapons and Deer Firearms seasons.

Wow I didn't realize that.

Dennis, the use of air guns for deer hunting in Tennessee would be a good question to ask TN.GOV.  I don't know if I would try this:  "it’s usually better just to do it and ask for forgiveness rather than permission"?
