So what's the verdict on the Akela? I don't have a .177, and if it will shoot 1" groups at 50yds with CPHP I would be interested. I don't have a problem clipping the spring or crowning a barrel. I've got wire cutters and a lathe! Besides, I've got a buyer coming to look at my Cooks AC-36 portable bandsaw mill today!
My Akela is far more accurate than my 1357. Far more. However, I shoot the 1357 more often. Just finished moding the Sortie trigger... I think it's time to mod the 1357's. The Akela trigger is fantastiic. The stock is fabulous. And the accuracy is there. Hammer spring coil cutting recommended.BTW Thane, The trigger work on the Sortie brought me back to threads in which your tuning, and then completely reinventing, the sortie featured. Thanks again for your help. Your contributions on the Akela thread were also very helpful for me.
This sale is KILLING ME.. I've almost bought one about 15 times since this was posted. I know I don't need one and I know I should not spend the $ but I keep clicking on the link and staring at it.......... This is a tough one........ I'm gonna try and make it through the end of the day without caving but I must admit I am weakening more and more as the day slips away.......Jeff

I’d say 98% of people out there really like them. Couple of us have had issues. It’s like anything else. It’s cheap enough to try and you can just sell it if you don’t like it. But most people seem to really like them
IMO, there are just too many offerings in the 'niche'.I'm personally at a buying freeze. I have all of my airgun needs covered a couple times over, in most cases."A house full of kids is great until it comes time to feed and clothe them all".
Well, I'm very proud of myself I made it past the sale without hitting the "buy" button Now it's listed with a 20% off sale, but that's not a temptation for me Jeff
