Monday - November 28, 2022This morning was cloudy/foggy and I didn't plan to see many squirrels. Was I mistaken - I saw a total of 14 - Grays and Fox Squirrels. I give the three Fox Squirrels a pass. (I decided to give all the Fox Squirrels a pass for the rest of this season in an attempt to help increase their numbers.) Of the remaining 11 squirrels, I managed to kill one. If you want to see an unlucky squirrel, see the picture below. I killed it with the sixth shot. It was a very young male and too uneducated to understand how to hide. In fact, it sat there after I missed the fourth and fifth shots. I did hit another one but didn't do it too much damage - it ran about 30 yards before I lost sight of it. There was no blood trail either. The rest of the Grays were too far and/or moving too much. It never rained and the skies eventually cleared. Nice day! [Yes, that is the Stormrider .22 - shooting JSBs 18.13 gr.]
Nice shooting Mike!
I love hunting with my Stormrider. Those little reds can be very hard to hit. Sometimes it takes me a whole six shots to get on red. Other times I can take 8 squirrels with 8 shots.

I would be all over it if they came out with a .25 Caliber!Shoot straight
While driving the back road near my permission this morning, I had to stop to set some turkeys cross the road. There were more than a few! By my count, there were 29 wild turkeys walking, running, and flying across the road. I was parked for a while.
Hi Mike.I am glad you are feelling better and could get out hunting.Good shooting on the Gray.I've been hunting Cottontail rabbits lately.Best wishes - Tom
