High powered .172 would be nice. The thing that seems to be missing to me, are air guns that have decent performance at lower pressures. I was reading about the Lewis and Clark gun and apparently that thing only need to be filled to around 800 psi or maybe I misread that. And shooting with the same energy levels as pcps at 3500+ psi. I’m sure there are reasons why the market is the way it is but I wonder about the focus on using higher and higher pressure to achieve energies comparable to an 800 psi gun. A couple years ago I was having a conversation with Doug Noble, and he mentioned he was working on developing a lower pressure system with good power. Not sure where that stands now.

Not sure where that stands now.The old Discovery/Maximus were able to make pretty good power at 2k, for a respectable number of shots as well. Seems like an updated version with a magazine would be a great seller.

That's a hard pass from me. I already have two 600s and one loves CPHPs, I'm just looking out for the rest of y'all I think the physics of HPA just don't lend themselves to a smallish pistol with a high shot count. At least at typical/safe pressures.

A PCP version of the Winchester lever action, kinda like the Umarex Legends rifle but in a PCP.
What is the gun that doesn’t exist right now but should?

I wouldn’t have thought so either.https://www.beemans.net/lewis-assault-rifle.htm“The most recent tests, noted above, by the author using "G4", his Cowan-made exact museum copy of the Beeman Girandoni, revealed a most telling result: starting with an air charge of 800 psi, this gun fired 64 lead balls from a single charge of air! And even that last ball was significantly deformed when it struck a metal plate!”“apparently in the early to mid-1800s, to about 800 lbs/sq. inch and achieved a muzzle velocity of over 900 fps with balls of 120.4 grains for a muzzle energy of 217 ft. lbs. “I would not mind getting 200 FPE from an 800 psi fill!

Based on some rough measurements of Girardoni "images" I estimate the rifle is a little over 48" long with approximate LOP of 14.5" and a 31" barrel. For the sake of this discussion I'll assumemax pressure = 900psi45cal lead ball = 140 grainsbarrel length = 31"My calculation and simulation says it is certainly possible to get the lead ball up to energies of 200-300 ft-lbs. Not quite up to modern high energy PCP rifle standards, but IMO an amazing achievement for over 200 years ago.

And 19 shot magazine capacity! If the claims are even close to accurate, I stand corrected and I am impressed.https://www.hubenairguns.shop/products/huben-pistol-gk1
