I hunt around Lake Oroville, and south of Bangor. Plenty of BLM and Nat. Forest in my area.

What kind of success rate do you all have with airguns+turkeys?
I.e. Put it in words I understand: Is it more like fishing for striped bass or for sturgeon... ;D

never hunted with an air rifle yet. this coming Spring season March 29th will be first time using Benjamin Disco .22. last Spring season, @ 6 AM, a flock of over 10 birds landed right on a pine tree where I ambuhsed. got 1 down with a 12 gauge # 2. too easy!! last fall season I got 1 using .410 # 4 at 20 yards from my blind. he came out of a private land while I was on a border of BLM land, Motherlode. Being in that close range, I am confident to try a headshot with air rifle. But, the thing is if turkeys will come around or not...
