Looking for a new inexpensive pcp to replace my breaker for squirrel hunting

I hunt with the Gamo Urban and Benji Prod both are excellent guns for squirrel. Unfortunately I do not hand pump. I own 2 compressors, one is the AV Nomad ll and the other is a Vevor PCP compressor. I have not had any problems the Vevor. I have guns that take fills from 3300 psi to 4500 psi and I am not about the hand pump them.

Air Force is having a Fourth of July 50% off sale. The 25 gauge Condor is out of stock or I would have pulled the trigger. But the .22 is in stock and will cost you just under $400 plus tax. You might consider it (or jump on it). Great product.

If a pump will be used, I recommend a PCP that fills to 2k psi max. like the Crosman (Benjamin) Fortitude .22.  Very easy to pump to 2k psi like the Discovery, and has plenty of power to take up to and including medium-sized game like raccoon/possum.  The Fortitude is a multi-shot rifle and also very underrated.  It is also inexpensive (low $200's) and meets the OP's criteria.

You 're right Bill!  I was pumping the Forti to 2200-2300 psi a few years ago because my tanks were low and needed to be hydro-tested, and forgot it's a 3k psi gun

Anyway, the OP stated "inexpensive" in the title so the FX and some others mentioned are out, although all great choices.  Inexpensive to me would be under $300, and besides the Fortitude, the Notos would be a good choice, or the Gauntlet II .22 when they go on sale for under $300.  Also a used tuned Disco .22 is worth looking into.  They can be pumped to 2k psi and can be made very quiet with an inexpensive moderator.  I bought a used well-tuned Disco, and it has a light trigger, aftermarket spring, power adjuster, and poly. o-rings (I think some valve work too) etc, and it's very accurate and consistent for 18 shots shooting 21 to 28.5 FPE depending on the power level.  Only "drawback" is that the Disco is a single-shot but it didn't stop me from using it exclusively for Ghogs for 2-3 years in a row.

Are you a person that can take a pcp apart and replace the o rings? They all will need maintenance. Do you want same power as break barrel? I have two Hatsan flash .22 refurbs ordered straight from Hatsan USA. The last one I got for total $143.00. I had to tinker with them, both had air leaks but came with seal kits included. The last one, the barrel band was a little loose put a piece of rubber under shroud and air tube. Both will shoot crosman hp (500 for $7.00 at Walmart) in dime size group. The flash has more power than a break barrel and is louder. At $300 I would look at JTS standard or Gamo urban. I would recommend a gun that comes with a reseal kit or easy to get one.

Crosman 3622 from Pyramyd air with the steel breech upgrade.   Will be well under budget even with pump and scope.   2k fill pressure makes for easy pumping.

Total: $212, that leaves a lot of money for pellets. I shot mine for about a month right out of the box, it was a feather that shot great and with plenty of power. The only thing I would probably do different is a CVLife 4x32 compact scope. Mine pretty much stays on 5x, and the 4x is quite a bit lighter.

NOT trying to talk anyone from going down the PCP rabbit hole... but IF
 you're only hunting and NOT plinking a bunch and such, a good pumper such
as the Dragonfly will get no hold sensitivity, and plenty power without the need for a pump,
compressor, tank and all its gear. And you'd have money left over for a BETTER scope

If still going PCP, my vote is also a toss up for the Notos or Prod maybe leaning a bit toward the Prod for its nicer trigger

If I might, I find all of the info I have received from this site to be good advanced airgunning info but when it comes down to it, it is up to you.

I don't know enough to really suggest more than I have already posted but to me the easiest avenue to an air supply is a good tank and a local Scuba Shop that will fill it.  (My Way - $15 a shot)

A compressor is not just the cost of the compressor but you will need filters, hoses, electrical supply, compressor cooling, your time, and as far as I really know, more than is needed.   The setup has to be just right, that is why I didn't go that route.
With the Armada, I only had to fill the bottle once every two weeks, with the new airgun I'm not even sure yet.

I'm not the one to try and talk you out of a compressor setup, just think on it, and consider a good starting point to be an air tank.

OK, again I'm talking to far over my head but chose your airgun AND... think about raising the $$$ baseline for your first gun because a good one to start, will set your future in PCP Airguns, then try a less expensive air supply to start.

You have gotten lots of great opinions on a rifle or carbine but coming from someone who recently switched to a compressor, a cp2 off amazon for a little over $200, 300 still leaves plenty for a decent rifle and scope and you will enjoy it alot more!

My buddy has a Gamo Urban in .22 and he really likes it, he's killed squirrels woodchucks and a possum with it and it's quite accurate and they're made in England by BSA I believe and they only cost around $300 👍

Lots of Notos love here and for good reason.

Probably my favorite air rifle of all time.

Hand pump works well (if you are healthy and young) but I am old and bought a $200 compressor on Amazon to ensure I am around long enough to enjoy the gun.

Notos $260ish with GxPumps CS-1 around $210 from factory under $500 solved.
I would also vote for the Gamo Urban $275 on Amazon if you could go $350 a synthetic stock AV Avenger gets a lot of love as well.

I know nothing about the Crossman 3622 other than a PCP should come with a steel breech and pic rail IMHO.  I can't think of a logical functional reason for a plastic breech or dovetail...imho
