I shot Eve and Dora getting them zeroed into "one slightly ragged hole" accuracy.

R9 .22 caliber, 25 yards at dots on cardboard, paintballs and steel spinners.  Three boys migrated back to where I was and we ended up taking turns with the same rifle , one shot each at paintballs. 

Now that would be fun.
There had to be a competitive spirit. Who won?

Had a short target session with my Gamo Hunter Maxim IGT. It has a couple of amateur airgun mechanic mods .
To me this is a very good gun. 16 ft/lbs 
Nice shot cycle light to handle and accurate and eastheticly pleasing to my eye. And it didn't cost HW or Diana money.

I went back out and shot 4 more mags from the tethered Maximus. Pressure gauges still haven't moved much.
I'm thinking about bumping things up to a 3k gun. I have a 60 minute 4500 psi tank that I can bleed down to 3k and run it on the Sentry .22 or the Flash QE .22. Lots of other options as well.

 I did take the suppressor off the GK1 to fire a shot to chase a deer out of the orchard, it moved 50 ft then stopped , I put the suppressor back on, shot at a rock near the deer to get a ricochet, the deer boogied, it must know what it is like to me missed by a bullet

Yes, I believe that to be true.  We need to get out and shoot some PB guns here soon.  They have their own .22lr rifles that they enjoy shooting.

Setting up to shoot the Xisico Sentry .22 tethered to a scba 60 minute tank filled to 3k. 
This gun wouldn't shoot my cast .25 pellets well enough so I swapped it to a .22 and it loves the 217 24 RF magnums from the NOE mold and long pins.

Yesterday evening was so nice out when the sun went behind the hill to our west.  The kids were in the pool, the air was warm and perfectly still.  It felt like the gentle warm air was hugging me.  We don’t get that feeling here very often.  That is more a a sensation that I have experienced when travelling in warmer climates.  Anyway…. We had some empty sparkling water cans from dinner so I tossed one out into the yard and grabbed the .22 cal HW30S with irons and rollled it around the yard standing offhand.  That is such a fun way to shoot.

I'd been plinking a lot lately with my CZ springer using Crosman 7.9 wadcutters.  The barrel has really warmed up to these pellets and I was tagging a slim Mich Ultra can at will at 40+ yards (~42 if memory serves me).  I have a Monster can set up at a measured 50 yards at a 10* slope downhill into a crosswind and I'm able to hit it at will.  Energy level sits right at 10.5 FPE- to be blunt, I'm amazed at how FLAT these Crosman wadcutters are shooting at 40+ yards.  Normally I shoot JSB domes and RWS Meisterkugeln wadcutters in this springer, but the Crosman WCs have been making me smile.

I think I may buy a 350mm .177 barrel for the Leshiy Classic.  I have a stack of various .177 slugs to try out now

Me and my wife took turns sighting in and shooting the 2240 at a cereal box and can from the deck. So nice to be able to shoot again. And it finally cooled down from the 90's.

I shot the P3, mostly at a mini V8 can hung in front of the pellet trap, 33’ standing offhand, RH and LH. Then shot a few at a badly mangled steel soup can. Finished with a few at the Rockin’ Rat, sitting on ground with bent knee for support.

Despite standing in the shade, it was a hot, uncomfortable session. The one good thing was that I figured out a good way to put the Rockin’ Rat at appropriate height, with the pellet trap in back. Because I set them up on the concrete part of fhe driveway, pellets that bounced back were easy to see. I retrieved 63 pellets out of 66 shot. The other 3 must’ve bounced to the sides and in the crushed rock and gravel, probably when they hit the mangoed steel can.

The prolonged heat wave nakes ne feel like doing...not much of anything.

The pups have cabin fever bad.  What with the heat and all I haven't spent much time out of doors with them.  Flash and Belle absolutely insisted we go for a walk in spite of the heat so we took a turn around the fish ponds.  I was expecting moccasins cause we haven't been back there in a couple of weeks and it takes constant vigilance to control them here in the swamp.  My usual "snake charmer" is my .25 cal Hatsan Striker loaded with big fat H&N Crow Magnums but today I wanted to plink a little and I'm running low on Crow Magnums.  So I went in the other direction and carried my C2100 and some hoarded H&N Sniper Mediums for reptiles and a handful of CPHP for plinking.  No snakes were encountered but I did blast some floating leaf's and a number of pinecones.

When the sun was setting I hung the shot-up 5.5-oz V8 can for continued holing. Did 26 more shots with the P3, then dusk fell. I hurried to shoot 9 with the Blue Streak while I could still see the front sight. As it got darker I switched to the scoped 880. Sometime during these last 10 shots I also sat on the ground instead of shooting standing. The lower half of the 5.5 oz can fell on the last shot I had brought pellets out for—just like it did the last time I cut a can.

Nights are sickeningly warm but at least they’re cooler than daytime. Nights normally are much cooler. No such thing as normal now.

Between my sons wedding in Croatia and catching Covid on the flight home, I haven't fired any gun in over 3 weeks.   That could be a record for me.   Covid seems to be fading and I felt pretty good this morning so I opened up safes and pulled out the guns I shoot the most.   First tried some offhand  10M with the IZH 46M but I guess I'm not fully recovered.   A little shakier than normal but it sure felt good to be shooting again.

I am out of the R 10s 7.0gr and was shooting the MiesterKugeln 7.0gr and it would be fine and dandy
with a lot of same hole shots, then 2 or 3 fliers in a row would ruin a nice run at the same hole. missing
by sometimes as much as .187".

I need to order some more R 10s.

I’m shooting Meisterkugeln 7.0 gr pellets in the P3 because I bought a lot of them before I noticed occasional similar or worse inconsistency with front-rested indoor shots, at short distance too (17’ and 19’). When shooting offhand, I assume bad shots are almost always my own wobbliness, but with a front rest this isn’t a factor. Decided that when those pellets ran out I was switching over to the pricier R10. I still think the Meisterkugeln are pretty good, just might have more variation in the pellets.

Something that the P3 made obvious is pellet skirt diameter variability. The first tin of pellets I got for that gun was R10. They fit very snugly. When I started buying Meisterkugeln, those pellets varied palpably in how they fit. Some dropped in like maybe they were too small, while others went in without resistance but still not as snug as the R10.

I don’t know if this is the reason for the odd shots, but after shooting more R10 pellets I will know. Also, when I was getting those flyers in one session, I grabbed some 8.3 gr Superdome pellets for comparison. No flyers. The Superdomes also fit more snugly in the P3, similar to the R10.
